About a month ago I had been experiencing a sore throat for over six weeks which prompted me to call my Ear Nose & Throat Doctor. I told him what I was feeling and he inserted a scope into my nose and down my throat. I was fearful to hear what he had to say. I thought for sure that I had the unspeakable. But happily, he told me that I had Pharyngeal Reflux and no evidence of growths anywhere in my throat.

I told him that my Gastroenterologist wanted me to have a diagnostic test called a Barium Swallow test. My ENT doctor said that I would not have to be exposed to radiation if I took a FEEST Test. So two days later I had the exam where they inserted a camera through my nose , down into my throat and fed me different foods and liquids which I swallowed. You could actually see the acid come up into my pharynx after swallowing the food, on the computer screen.

I was relieved but extremely upset because I felt I had no control over it happening. So I said to myself, "Now that I know what is happening to me, what now am I supposed to do? I had been taking one Prevacid in the morning and one at night. How much more could I take? I felt doomed to disease in the future. Although I had a good result from the test, I still had my symptom inflammation. I remembered what my Gastro doctor told me. He said "You have to treat this as if you were a diabetic, meaning I had to control certain things like diet and the time I ate, just like a diabetic". So I hit the Internet.

I looked up Reflux disease remedies and low and behold, I found "Great Taste No Pain". It seemed so easy. I decided to give it a try. I followed the plan exactly as written. I couldn't believe it. I felt better by the second meal. I thought it was too good to be true! So I continued. By the next day, my sore throat was markedly better and I was feeling no pain! I noticed my stomach was no longer cramping and everything you claimed to be true. You made a believer out of me. I have been on it for about two weeks and have real hope for the first time. And yes, I was able to cut my daily Prevacid in half!

But then, feeling so good, I said, "Could this really be true?". So I went off the plan and "Pow"! The pain and cramping returned within 5 minutes!

So I can only say that I not only feel good on the plan but it is a delicious and easy plan that has enabled me to take of three of the eight pounds already that I have been trying to lose for five years! What a bonus! The only words that come to mind are "Thank you so very very much!"

Gratefully,

JL

I could not believe that the problem I had was an acid problem, but after following your Great Taste No Pain plan for almost a month, I feel more energy, and less regurgling when I eat, sometimes for two hours to get settled down. It is a so great to feel more like myself; I have been able to eat pain free again. .

Bowels are better too. I could not take medicine, but this has been so much better and do not like medicine allergies again

Thanks,

Eda

Hi Sherry,

Since being on the Great Taste No Pain program I truly am enjoying the new life style of eating. I have an improvement in my reflux, as I have been off my medication, but still suffering from reflux and bloating. I can see a difference already in my body, less bloating with irritability with ongoing diarrhea and constipation.

I took myself off my gastritis pill, because it was giving me terrible abdominal pain, which I related this to the medication, but as mention was still left with indigestion.

Thanks,

Myrna

Hi Sherry,

Yes, I have been following your Great Taste No Pain plan and I am enjoying this very much. Since it has only been a week, I have noticed quite a difference already. I have no more bloating, irritable bowel, easy digestion with no reflux, although I did go off my acid reflux medication quite some time ago, but was let with reflux every since. The reason my going off the medication is that I had quite a bit of abdominal pain, which I found was related to the medication. I still am suffering from arthritis, but I am sure with my continuing this way of life style this will improve.

Sincerely,

Myrna Ellis

Hi Sherry,

I ordered and received your Great Taste No Pain System of eating and it has worked so well that I wanted to respond.

My husband and I are 63 and 60 respectively. We grew up in the country where his family milked cows and we all lived on dairy and meat as a way of life. We both come from families that have been visited by cancer. Our parents and other family members have suffered and died from this horrible disease. The colon problems, bone cancer, the GERD issues, the many anti-acid pills have all been part of their lives.

What we never knew is the extent to which their acidic diets impacted their health. Until my husband was given a prescription for Aciphex a few years back, and then this year I found myself in a specialist's office, waiting for him to write me a prescription for a proton pump inhibitor for acid reflux, the incorrect "combining of foods" never occured to us.

When the doctor began to describe how I would need to take his pills for the rest of my life, I kept thinking "Oh no....here is where it begins....that same horrible treadmill of pills."

One thing was clear to me....I did not want to begin that same horrible daily routine of taking a hand full of pills, like my mother does for everything from acid reflux to arthritis to heart disease. I got busy and started searching for information about how to stay off that "white coat treadmill" you talk about in your newsletters. I am determined NOT to start with the pills! I found your healthy website when I did a search on the internet.

I have wondered why we both suffered from chronic sinus issues, coughing, sour stomach and this "combining of the right foods" program that you have developed explains a lot of it. I have never found a more complete explanation anywhere. This new way of eating, the delicious recipes, is a wonderful lifesaver !

After only one week, eating all the foods we love, in the proper combinations, we both noticed how much better we felt, and the new energy that we had. I was moving around so much easier and then I noticed that after two weeks I had lost 8 pounds. The cravings for sweets that I had all the time has subsided, and it does not take a lot of food to "fill me up" anymore. No more sitting up in bed, waiting for the big meaty meals to "digest" and stop all the heartburn.

My husband and I now have clothes that are too big for us. We are enjoying the kind of energy that we had many years ago. We are now walking more and are back out enjoying the garden again.

Thank you Sherry, for doing the arduous research that it has obviously taken to find out what kinds of food combinations are the best for good health. We love the recipes in the book. All the best to you and your excellent work. We owe our healthy new life to you !

Dear Sherry,

I have been using your program for almost 3 months now. I never really had any problems that I knew of. One night I was awake all night with terrible pain in my stomach. I thought it might be gallbladder or my heart. I had company for 10 days and was eating a lot more and very different foods than usual and thought it might be something I ate. Well anyway I went to my GP and was told I had GERD. She gave me and antacid prescription and said to take Malox with it.

I came home and immediately looked up GERD and it brought me to your website and as I read I knew I would try your program. Although the medicine she prescribed left me with no pain, I am very much into holistic concepts. I purchased your Great Taste No Pain program and in 4 days I did start to feel better and had an abounding amount of energy.

Let me tell you health wise what I had been struggling with. I had a continuous cough, and a serious sinus problem. I had been told a year ago by a friend that coffee and chocolate could cause sinus and I laughed. Well since I have been eating the way your program suggests. I have no more cough (which I did read happens with GERD) and my sinus problem has cleared completely. I also have stopped taking my blood pressure medicine as my blood pressure has been perfect for a month now. Still lots of energy.

Thank you so much for all your hard work to put this program together. I love the recipes and have spent more time cooking than I have since my children were young and at home and love doing it.

Gratefully yours.

Hi Sherry,

I had a colonoscopy on November 30, 2009. After the procedure I was told I had diverticulosis (I had experienced no symptoms) however I did notice a funny sensation when I bent over, I realize now it was probably early acid reflux. (since being on the program I have had no recurrence of this sensation and I have never had an attack.

When I returned home from the procedure I went on the web re: diverticulosis and found your "Great Taste No Pain program" I never refer to it as a "diet" because to be successful with GTNP you are on it for your health for the rest of your life.

Following GTNP I've had the following benefits:

1. Have more energy, feel healthy and younger. 2. Loss of weight (20 - 25 lbs.) which I was unable to do because of female surgery. (I'm sure the weight loss decreased my knee pain. However, it's important to note that I could not successfully maintain my weight before GTNP) 3. My right knee was very painful. In early 2008, I was in so much pain I was unable to sleep at night. Prednisone was prescribed. I don't like taking prescriptions, so I didn't take very much of it, went back to the Dr. and other drugs were prescribed. Since being on GTNP I've been on Osteo Bi Flex and a prescription topical cream. This combination is working well. 4. Your food combination/avoid acid program allows a lot of food choices. I especially like the pocket guide for dining out, it shows you can keep on program and enjoy eating out.

Sincerely,

Hi Sherry,

I recently roomed with a friend at a weekend women's retreat and she told me about your Great Taste No Pain program. She has a hiatal hernia and has been on your program for four months. It has made such a difference in her life and she praised your program so highly that I went home and looked you up on the internet and immediately ordered your plan.

I've had a problem with acid reflux for a couple of years now. I haven't had to take medication constantly, only during flare ups, but have tried to follow the doctor's advise to elevate the head of my bed, avoid spicy food and carbonated drinks, nothing to eat for a couple of hours before going to bed, etc. Since receiving your information and implementing the program, I feel so much better, have more energy, and no longer have a problem with the acid reflux when I lie down. I've tried several of your recipes already and love them. I have already recommended your program to others and will continue to do so.

Sherry,

I've had a tough winter with high blood pressure and after 2 ER visits, and wearing a heart monitor 3 different times because of fast (over 100) heart beats and "skipping" heart beats, it was determined that I had PACS.

They couldn't figure out why. Went to a cardiologist and had many EKG's and a complete Stress Test done, and found my heart was perfect. I was put on blood pressure medication and another BP medication that would slow fast heart beats. They made me feel terrible. I was already taking high cholesterol medicine because of a cholesterol account of over 250.

My acid reflux was so severe that I was taking an OTC med 2 times a day for it and it didn't always help. I finally had a severe condition one Monday morning after eating out at a local restaurant after church the previous day. I thought my stomach was trying to spasm up into my throat. I called a gastro doctor that had worked with me to remove my gall bladder 15 years ago, he saw me the next day and I was scheduled for an endoscopy in one week. During that one week wait I was instructed to take DOUBLE of the OTC meds to quiet down my condition. Those pills gave me such terrible cramps in my intestines and severe diarrhea that I had to stop them after 2 days.

I remembered I had bought your Great Taste No Pain plan the year before and put it on my book shelf. I got it out. Read it cover to cover and began doing some of the foods that I had in stock at home. I begin to feel better immediately. I have had very little, if any, acid reflux (only a slight bit if I ate too much food), in these past couple weeks. I have lost 12 pounds! I was over weight by 25 pounds, so this is a good thing. I've begun a new life style of eating and I really enjoy it.

Thank you for your knowledge and for telling us folks out here about how to eat! I know I have a long way to go yet, as I need to heal my esophagus from all the acid reflux from the past, but I press on and it gets a little better every day.

Sherry,

Just felt that I should let you know about my story. I am 59. About three months ago, out of the blue, I began having horrible heartburn and acid reflux. In just a couple of weeks, I was not going without sleep several nights a week and none of the "natural" remedies I tried helped, nor did over-the-counter meds. My doctor, of course, prescribed a proton pump inhibitor, but I was convinced that I could find a natural way to manage this condition. After buying several books on the subject and purchasing an expensive wedge pillow to sleep on, and trying all kinds of supplements, I was still having issues. I lost 16 pounds in two months (menopausal fat--the only upside!) and was missing work because of not sleeping well. Out of desperation, I finally began to take the purple pill, which helped the heartburn, but not the reflux. A GI doctor said I needed to be scoped and would need to take a pill every day for the rest of my life.

Because I have never had a serious health issue before, I became very depressed, as conventional medicine was telling me that there was no cure. Even if I had a hiatal hernia, the only remedy was surgery, and the research I did on that was not comforting.

Then a friend told me about your website. What you said on the site immediately made logical sense to me. I decided to try your Great Taste No Pain plan. I felt better on day 1. It's now been a month and I have been off the pills and sleeping better than I have in decades. I feel like a new person and am committed to staying on the program, even though I do travel a lot. I KNEW there had to be a way to address the CAUSE rather than just the symptoms, and I can't thank you enough for putting this information into a format that is easy to understand and implement. I just had my scope, and it was completely normal in every way! My friend, who has been diagnosed with reflux, gastritis, and hiatal hernia, is also doing well on the program. We celebrated last week with by going out for lunch, properly combined, of course!

Thank you for giving me my life back,

Barb Doerr
