Hello Sherry,

I started with gastritis when I was 27, and kept on having problems. At 38 I was diagnosed with GERD and with the risk of developing Barrett’s Esophagus. Since then I have been on omeprazole and in the last years on nexium (and sleeping on a huge pile of pillows). Last year, at 48, I was told my esophagus was worse. This year my gallbladder was taken away (I had lots of pain and some small stones) and the doctors also indicated that I should get an anti-reflux surgery.

I am reluctant regarding this surgery. I am trying to follow your method as strictly as possible. In the next months I'll have to be checked again and I want to see if I'm better and able to avoid surgery and to abandon the pills.

I tried your Great Taste No Pain plan and I felt immediately well. As long as I follow the rules, I feel lighter and I have no stomach ache and no burning.

Thanks for all the information.

Paula

Sherry,

I have been taking Prilosec for approx. 10 years and it pretty much controlled my acid reflux. I recently asked my doctor if it was ok to be on the med for that length of time and he said "no problem". I started cutting the pills in half and about 2 years ago and they still worked. Last July I noticed a pain in my lower left abdomen when pressure was applied. A scan showed an infection and Cipro was prescribed. The pain never went away entirely and then about 2 weeks ago while relaxing in Florida, the bloating and changing bowel movements increased along with a very touchy abdomen.

I went online looking for good/bad foods for diverticulitis and there you were. I instantly started your Great Taste No Pain plan and the bloating stopped in one day, the pain in my abdomen eased and stopped after 8 days and I haven't had a prilosec since day one.

Thanks for all you do.

Dear Sherry,

Thank you for your "Great Taste No Pain" plan for stomach distress.

I am 63 years old and have suffered from heartburn, bloating and stomach pain for most of my adult life. I have been diagnosed over the years with Cholecystitis, GERD, and Diverticulosis.

After 1 day of using your Great Taste No Pain plan I am finally free of stomach discomfort. Since then I have no need to take the Nexium tablets.

Thanks Sherry!

Regards,

Hi Sherry,

I used to have heartburn and now I follow your Great Taste No Pain plan and feel great. My acid has reduced dramatically.

Thanks,

Mari

My acid reflux has almost disappeared, much improved since following your diet. Thanks a bunch. And I can eat the spicy foods that I love, and was previously told to avoid them.

Hi Sherry,

I went on holiday after a very stressful 5 weeks at work and finished up in hospital! While at work I was suffering for acid stomach and put it down to "Stress" I now have a large Hiatus Hernia with severe erosive reflux oesophagus! I was in so much pain and it felt like I was having a heart attack. I was told to stay off spices, fruits, certain vegetables, tomatoes, meat and no sugar, no coffee or tea. I always cook from fresh and am not one for processed food. I was so scared to eat anything as the thought of the pain was too great.

I was put on Pantoprazole and ate as little as possible and took at tablet every time I ate. I am so grateful to have found your Great Taste No Pain plan and very helpful website and all your daily messages. I feel great now and NO pain!! I can eat well and feel good and guess what I have not taken any of my tablets all week.

Thank you so very much

Dear Sherry,

Just by chance, I pulled up your website on the Internet. I had just come from seeing a infectious disease doctor who began treating me for a staph/strep infection which was discovered in a bone removed from my toe. The antibiotic he prescribed had several restrictions. The worst for me was the fact I could not take my GERD medicine (aciplex) for the entire month.

When I got home I began looking on the internet to see what I was going to do. I had been on Prevacid for several years until my insurance company announced they wouldn't pay for it anymore. Before I went to my doctor I tried several over the counter medicines, but none helped with my problem. I was not anxious to eat because I would have a burning in my stomach and esophagus about one and a half hours after eating. Then my doctor put me on Aciplex and I have taken it everyday. I came across your web site and saw your article stressing that we could still eat many of the things we enjoy without the accompanying pain. I didn't really believe you, but I thought I would at least give it a try.

I have been following your Great Taste No Pain plan since October 15, 2009. The first 3 to 4 days I didn't feel any relief, but I took tums because the doctor told me to. On the 5th day the burning disappeared. I thought it was strange, but I enjoyed the day. The next day I again did not feel the burning and I began to realize I could get through days with taking any medicine. While it did not go completely away, the pain is much less and I am much happier this way. When I finish the antibiotics I am not returning to Aciplex, but I intend to continue my new diet.

Thank you so much for helping me see that there are other ways besides medicines that you can get relief.

Hi Sherry,

I really look forward to your email every day, it keeps me positive and on the straight and narrow in following your Great Taste No Pain plan. I've had IBS on and off for the past 25 years and taken all the different tablets imaginable. I've had a colonoscopy and the consultant described my bowel wall as `ragged wallpaper'. I was bleeding and lost a stone in a month. To be honest at the time, I thought I had cancer. Since that time, I've struggled with bloating, constipation, acid reflux and cramps. Recently, this has been on a daily basis.

About two months ago I bought your Great Taste No Pain plan. Slowly I'm beginning to get back to a normal life and a new way of eating. I do find I go off the rails some days and of course the pain comes straight back, so to read your email every morning gives me the will to keep going at it. Everything you say makes sense and the plan definitely works if you stick to it rigidly. To anyone out there, have faith; you will feel better than you ever did before.

Many thanks Sherry; I send you lots of hugs.

Dear Sherry,

I have had digestive issues to some degree since I was a teenager (now 53) but the severe problems started about 2 years ago. After feeling bloated every time I ate, short of breath, gaining weight, undependable bowel movements, and dizziness at times; I underwent all the usual tests. First, they thought it was gallbladder. Three disgusting tests and a month later, gallbladder was ruled out, so it must be GERD. So now we start the expensive, prescription acid-reducer meds. Some issues got better for awhile, but I continued to have trouble eating some things. Fast forward a year and I've gained 15 pounds, I'm having severe cramps in my legs and feet, and now I've been hoarse for 4 months.

After ruling out asthma, an ENT did the scope and tells me I have irritable Larynx syndrome. (Guess what causes that - good ole gerd)

After following your Great Taste No Pain plan less than a week, my cramps have mostly disappeared and my joints feel better than they have in years. My bowel movements are very normal, and I am enjoying eating and tasting the foods more than I have in years.

I feel very lucky to have found your information. I absolutely love the cookbook. Thanks for the info

Hi Sherry,

I had acid reflux for a few years. It would wake me up in the night with burning juices choking me. My doctor put me on Nexium, plus antacids. After taking the antacids for 6 weeks, my blood pressure (normally 120/70) went to 152/85. I then read on the internet somewhere that antacids can make your blood pressure go up. I told this to my doctor, but she did not believe me. I stopped taking them, and my pressure went back to normal. However, I still had to take the nexium.

I do not like taking drugs, so I stopped the Nexium on my own. However, the burning sensation in my throat would not leave and I was fearful of getting throat cancer or something. One night I was praying to the Lord to help me find a drug free cure, and then I went to the internet, and your site came up.

I decided to try your Great Taste No Pain plan. I was truly pain free in one day. Why don't doctors know this information? It is very frustrating to see so many people suffering and yet doctors just keep on writing prescriptions. They must get a kickback or something.

God bless you, Sherry, for the wonderful work that you do. I keep telling people about your site.
