Ever since my mom passed away in 1999 from stomach and bone cancer, I noticed a trend of illnesses within the family and thought for me, I need to get checked on a regular basis. I was diagnosed with Diverticulosis in 2003 and began to take charge of my health. I read on what to take and eat and figured I would conquer this. Well, on a regular basis, I would exercise and get yearly checkups. On January 7, 2008 I had a near fatal car accident. I suffered a broken left clavicle, 4 left broken ribs, fractured left pelvic and hip and my left ankle swell up double. On my right arm, I have 2 broken bones and the surgeon replaced both with 2 stainless steel plates. As a result of this I was hospitalized for over a month, continuous therapy twice daily 6 days a week for 3 weeks. Once discharge I had home care and therapy.
So yes, I have been through it all. I went back to work on June 2, weaned myself off the meds that were heavy and quite severe. So finally in November I began to feel nausea in the stomach and just didn't feel like myself. I was back on my health kick taking my vitamins and eating healthy, I thought. Since my check up and endoscopy, I was diagnosed with two ulcers and chronic acid reflux. After the doctors visit I went on line and discovered you!
What an impact in my life....I started the GTNP plan the following day and you can not believe the results. You are absolutely correct 100%. I feel much better and energetic. I love the food plan. It truly works! I get better sleep and donít feel sluggish. With a family history of breast cancer, colon cancer and heart disease, I can say there is a way to conquer your problems. I sit at work and talk about your GTNP plan. I have called my family and with all said and done, I am a living testimony.
Thank You Sherry! I will continue to use your plan forever, even when my ulcers are gone.
I just wanted to say thanks so much for your plan! I stumbled upon it this past week when I was experiencing constant abdominal pain. I used a colon cleanse program last month and really created some problems for my G.I. tract. Even meds for acid reflux made it worse. Some of the listed side effects are "headache and abdominal pain!" I read your story and thought that there might be hope, though I was skeptical. I am so amazed!! I started the program halfway through the day and felt better by bedtime. By day 2, I could feel more improvement. I felt so much better that I took my acid reflex meds and that is when I discovered how much worse it made me feel. What worked was the food plan. It made an immediate difference and today I am not in pain, even though an upper G I showed that I have gastritis, an inflamed stomach lining! I love the fact that this is all natural and not a drug with potentially dangerous side effects. I would suggest trying this to anyone who is having acid stomach. I am so happy to be out of pain and still be able to eat foods I love.
Thanks. This was money well spent!
For 3 years I've taken medication for severe acid reflux and gastritis, been in and out of the emergency room and tried every diet I could find and nothing seemed to work... a few weeks ago, I was sitting at my desk and could feel the acid burning in my nose, eyes, ears, etc... I felt so desperate... once more; I went online and searched for something that would keep me...
Thatís when I found your website! I immediately started following your advice on food combinations and IMMEDIATELY felt relief... it has been over a week now and I am so excited about this! My whole family is eating this way now, and many friends are going to your website for the amazing plan offered there...
Thank you so much, Sherry Brescia! I feel like you have saved my life...
Finally I feel 100% better. It took about one week. The food is great for me and my family as we have always eaten a Mediterranean diet. Now I just combine the right food and it works out great.
I found out last week that I had gastritis. After the endoscopy I left the office with a prescription for Prevacid. I have not filled it. Luckily I found your website. Most of my life I have been suffering with hiatal hernia and gastric reflux. The pain was night and day. Most of my life I had stomach problems.
I'm so grateful to you and so is my husband. Thank you again.
I found your plan last week (Monday) surfing the internet and started following your Great Taste No Pain plan. I've been diagnosed with gastritis and acid reflux at the age of 20.
I was in more or less constant pain with my stomach and the specialist prescribed drugs and told me to avoid alcohol and take my meal & snacks regularly (on time diet).
I was on the medication for 36 years but I didn't feel it was of much benefit. The pain in my stomach will be gone for a period of time then come back again.
I also read about all the side-effects of the medication - the primary one being that reducing stomach acid production leads to undigested food passing through the gut and hence nutrient absorption being reduced, etc.
I started your plan and decided to stop immediately taking my medication. My stomach was much calmer at this stage and over a week into the plan I can say that I am pain free now pretty much all the time, which I feel shows I am well on the road to total recovery.
I have also found that my energy levels are much more even. I ate Greek salad last night and must say it was delicious and very satisfying.
I have felt much better on the plan and have also lost some weight effortlessly which is beneficial as I could do with reducing my waistline somewhat!
Overall I must say that I am delighted with your plan. By the way, I'm 56 years old now. Just celebrate last October. I've forwarded your Great Taste No Pain Diet Plan to my friends.
More Power to you, your family, and your work.
I hope and pray that all medical community in the world will see the light!
May our Lord GOD bless us all.
Thank you and Best regards,
I am on my fourth day of your eating plan and am amazed at the results. I have not taken 1 tablet in 3 days. Normally I take anything up to 20 tablets per day - Nexium, Scopex, Allergex, Adco Cyclizine, Librax etc.
I have been suffering with Acid Reflux, Colitis, Gastritis, Diverticulitis, and IBS - all the things you mention for the past 5 years. I have almost died on numerous occasions and been in hospital more times than I can count.
You are an absolute Godsend. I cannot believe this is working for me. I have been to numerous doctors, specialists, dieticians to no avail.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I at last feel like I have my life back.
Thank you so much once again and have a good day.
I am happy to report that after following your Great Taste No Pain plan, I am feeling a lot better. I have literally suffered for many years with stomach pain (actually pain under my sternum). I have been diagnosed with a hiatal hernia, gastritis and esophogitis and osteoporosis. My acid reflux has subsided thanks to you!!!!
Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for giving me the tools to relieve the pain. I will be eternally grateful for all that you have done to show me the way to combine the food that I eat correctly.
With great appreciation for your generous help
I have been on the plan for four days and am feeling much better and have lost three pounds. I love the recipes I have tried so far and I just received your book with so many more recipes and I am anxious to try them.
I have been struggling with all of the listed stomach/digestive problems for about 14 years... 2008 has been particularly a struggle.... lots of doctor visits, gall bladder surgery, and so many meds to control GERD, diverticulosis, and ulcers.
I have already cut back on my meds and hope to be off them completely in a few weeks.
My husband is pre-diabetic and will certainly benefit from these recipes as well... even though he is not yet willing to actually follow the plan completely.
Thanks for your plan and the help with what the doctors said is a life long problem... only to be treated, not fixed.
I have now been on your plan for about 2 weeks and I tell you I am feeling much better. Leading up to my surgery on 09/04/2008 (partial hysterectomy), I was having these choking coughing spells that would awaken me during the night. After about a month of this, I finally had enough and decided to call my GP, who said it sounded like I had acid reflux because the coughing was happening during the night. Now I was a little shocked because I didn't have what they called the classic GERD symptoms. No burning, etc. I thought that I had allergy issues. Well I was put on Nexium and also diagnosed with a sinus infection.
I went in for my surgery and as a result of the surgery, my blood pressure and pulse rate went way up. I saw specialist after specialist only to be placed on Atenolol for the elevated pulse rate. I went to an allergist and was put on antibiotics again for what she called an unresolved sinus infection. I later went through the allergy test and found out that I was allergic to just about everything and was give an inhaler. I saw a gastro specialist and was told that I have mild signs of Esophagitis.
After starting your program my blood pressure went way down, 95/58 and the Atenolol had to be adjusted to half of the dose. I am sleeping so peacefully at night that it is unreal and on only one pillow! I was on Lipitor and am no longer on this medication. I am so happy to have found your plan. Kudos to you and your hard work.
May God Bless you because you certainly have been a blessing to me and my health.
I feel like a walking infomercial for your Great Taste No Pain plan. I have sent your website to so many of my friends and family that I have lost track of who I have and have not sent it to. I even approached an acquaintance in church who I wondered might benefit from it. I am on my 10th day.
I suffer from GERD, gastritis in the form of stomach ulcers (not the kind of ulcers caused by H-Pylori), hiatal hernia, allergies, and extreme sinus drainage. I have for a long time thought that the sinus drainage was my body's way of protecting my throat and stomach from the intense acid always present in my system. Since being on your program, I am convinced that I was correct.
With the hiatal hernia comes frequent vomiting. When I ate I never knew if I would be able to keep it down. I tried to keep my meals small but that did not always help. Then I did not know which food would trigger it next (I do now). Because of all my sinus drainage I coughed frequently and that often triggered the gag reflex too.
After one day on the plan the pain was close to gone. I still had that 'tender' feeling that is kind of like the day after the flu. The problem is gone but it takes time to heal especially the ulcers. After four days my sinus drainage was 90% gone. I still have allergies and I believe that is why it is not entirely gone. I have great hope that as my immune system recovers maybe even the allergies could be gone. Again it takes time to heal.
On day five of the plan I hit a glitch. I attended a daylong seminar on diabetes with my husband where the food was provided for us. The lunch was nutritious and simple. I thought "I've got a suspicion this could be a problemĒ But I did not know for sure - so I ate it. Ten minutes after I ate I was in the bathroom and up it came. Needless to say since then, if it's not proper food combining on your plan I won't eat it.
Here are the medications I am on and how they have changed:
Prilosec - previously taken twice daily. Now once daily (until the ulcers are healed)
Claritin D 24-hr - changed to plain Claritin (no decongestant needed)
Mucinex DM extra strength 12 hr - previously taken twice daily. Now no longer needed.
Flonase nose spray - previously taken once daily. Now no longer needed.
Fiber tablets for constipation - previously two tablets once daily. Now no longer needed
Calcium tablet (I am allergic to milk) - no change at present
I also take medication for thyroid and blood pressure. I will not change these without my doctor's approval. And I will not approach him on those until I have been on the program long enough to feel stable with all the changes I have already made on my own.
Your program is wonderful. I love that it is a lifestyle change that is easy to make - one that does not make me feel deprived at all.
