When I began the first day of the eating changes, I was on vacation so it was a little rocky. But mostly I was able to follow the recommended diet fairly closely. After four days my bowels are normal, no cramping; and the ache in my joints is much reduced. I am very encouraged. I love the food on the diet and the recipes are wonderful.

Sherry,
My husband has hemochromatosis and suffers, among many other things, from a great deal of joint pain. Last year, he was also diagnosed with a stomach ulcer. After a year of protonix and various other acid blockers with no results, I set off to find an "ulcer diet" to help him. I came across your web site and that night we began your diet.
After 4 days on the "Great Taste, No Pain" diet, he stopped taking the daytime dose of medication and after 2 weeks was completely off of the ulcer medication. It has been a month now and he has lost 8 lbs. and feels good. He is able to sleep through the night without waking up from stomach pain. In addition to the stomach pain going away, he is no longer limping. It seems that the diet is also helping the joint pain that he has suffered with for years! The hemochromatosis may never go away, but it seems that the diet is helping the symptoms.
This has been a wonderful find and it will benefit our entire family.

Dear Sherry:
Thank you, thank you, and thank you - 1000 times over again.
I had been diagnosed with diveritulosis seven years ago. The truth is I
have always had to be very careful about what I ate and when I ate it.
Food was not my friend.
After a recent visit to the doctor (I had been experiencing non-stop tummy
problems for 3-4 months) and the nurse practitioner looking at me and
asking me what I wanted to do about it, I went home and decided that they
(the medical profession) had no plan to help me with my situation. I did
a search on the internet for diverticulosis and up your website popped!
Life has been ever so much better since I have been on your eating plan.
I have lost 14 pounds (most of it poop I believe!); sleep very soundly at
night now, no need for extra pillows because I don't get clogged up
anymore (I thought I had allergies - I did - only the allergies were
caused by eating the wrong foods together) and my energy level has soared.
My arthritis has also subsided. I was fortunate that I was not on any
medication, but after following your plan, my overall aches and pains have
significantly been reduced.
My brother, who has suffered from Crohn's Disease for 18 years, is also on
the plan. He has basically stopped taking all of his medication. He
tells me everyday how much better he feels and the problematic diarrhea
(sp?) is non-existent. He can't believe how much better he feels. He
just turned 66 and tells me this is the best he has felt in years!
For me, not having stomach pain everyday, not having to worry about eating
(will I have to be close to a bathroom just in case the food ran through
me) - all of those worries/issues have disappeared. I feel released from
an endless cycle that had me almost chained to my house each day for fear
of having some unexpected 'accident' while out in public.
Again, thank you, thank you, and thank you.
Age 64 and feeling better than ever thanks to your plan!
Susan
Hi Sherry,
I started on your program several weeks ago when my husband was diagnosed with spondyloarthritis. I was diagnosed with crohn's disease twenty five years ago and discovered I had celiac disease three years ago. I have been on a very strict and healthy diet for many years and my husband ate pretty much what I did. However, this arthritis came on so suddenly. He went to bed one night and woke up the next morning almost unable to move. His left foot swelled so much that he couldn't put a shoe on. Once we got a diagnosis that it was an autoimmune disease and not a structural problem, I got on the net to see what else I could find about diet and autoimmune diseases and I found you. I have heard of food combining for many years, but had never seen it so simply written. We began eating our healthy diet, but in the combinations you teach and the three weeks before my husband could begin his medication, his foot lost most of its swelling, his energy improved and his pain diminished. He chose to accept the medication that the doctor offered and after just two weeks, he played his first round of golf. He said he savored every swing and didn't care about his score at all, though he shot an 80, which is excellent for him. The doctor is amazed at how quickly Bob responded to the medication.
As for me, I still have celiac disease and still must stay away from gluten, but some belching and burping that I've had for a very long time has disappeared and I have lost five pounds. Bob has lost ten. We still eat our same foods, just at different times. This is really quite simple. I wish I had done this many years ago. Our hope is that Bob will someday be able to wean off the medication. Thank you for making this available and accessible.

Hi Sherry,
I am a 61 year old housewife (used to be a school teacher and an RN and have raised 3 kids). I had polio when I was a kid and it "returned" when I was about 40 years old. And, although a vegetarian, I have had stomach problems all my life. After a hysterectomy at age 46 (life threatening hemorrhaging made me do it!), things got much, much worse! I was diagnosed with diabetes a few years later, but happily, I overcame that through diet and exercise. But the "tummy" problems didn't go away! After a lot of research and with help from our daughter's studying, 3 years ago my husband and I stopped using dairy and eggs. That helped some. But other problems persisted. Having the drugs doctors gave to me (for joint pain and stomach pain) only made matters worse, so I stopped cold turkey a little while ago, and was amazed that I felt even better!
Then, able to think clearly once again, I was searching for something to help my son with his problems when I came across "Great Taste No Pain". I started using your plan myself as a test (with adjustments for my vegan/ wheat-free lifestyle), and now feel so great that I can hardly believe it. It's been two weeks and I feel like a new woman! My husband and the rest of my family have seen the difference, too. Before I was tired and sluggish and in pain from this that or the other thing all the time. I couldn't do a lick of housework and that depressed me. Now I breeze through dishes, beds, floors and even moving some furniture without a care in the world! I walk without a cane (which I've had to use for 7 years!) It isn't just my "tummy" that feels better! It's everything! Thank you!!
I wrote previously about my son who has been diagnosed with Ceilec, Crohn’s, and Ménière’s and has been in pain and suffering for years even with special diets and medication. I "talked" him into trying your plan by being an example! On his 31st birthday just a few days ago he suddenly said, "Mom, when you discover what made you again, let me know and I'll try it!" I didn't understand at first what he was saying, so he explained. "You look terrific! The best I've seen you look since I was a little kid! I want to be well like that!" So, I passed your plan on to him (revamped a little to go with his restrictive diet because of his gluten intolerance and other allergies) and he started on it the very next day. Last night at a family get together he told me, "I can't believe how great I feel. I don't ever want to go "off" this new diet thing! I have almost NO PAIN at all, and it's wonderful!"
Thank you again! It's even more gratifying to me to see him better than it is for ME to feel better! You are indeed an answer to many prayers!

Dear Sherry,
I am so impressed with all the information in my package. I no longer have joint pain and my stomach has been pain free for a whole week.
It has changed my life!
Thank you!

Dear Sherry,
Thank you so very much for your wisdom - I have been suffering so much and after 4 days following your combination regime, I have experienced an unbelievable
turnaround.
I am a 51 year-old Registered Nurse who has been experiencing Rheumatoid arthritis, Sjorgren’s Syndrome and recently was also diagnosed with Fibromyalgia with
associated Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
I became so debilitated by the symptoms; excruciating abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, gas, but mainly extreme fatigue. These symptoms have affected so many aspects of
my life.
About 2 weeks ago I came to the realization that I simply could not go on this way. I dragged myself to my computer to try to find some kind of answer.
I am so grateful that I found your website because within 4 days of commencing your regime (which makes complete sense) my health has largely been restored, my fatigue has subsided and my sense of humor is back!
I now feel that I am able to take back control of my life....and these dietary changes are going to be kept for my life.
Frankly, I am amazed that such a simple change can make such a huge difference in such a short period of time.
I could go on and on, but suffice to say - THANK YOU.
Yours sincerely,
Sian R
Hi Sherry:
My story: Well, since my teens I have always had digestive problems, all sorts of discomfort really, bloating, wind, cramps, plus joint pain. I never thought the last one was actually connected to my digestion.
I had been "diagnosed" with IBS a few years later, then "developed" food intolerance. Now after living with this for nearly 20 years, I have just had a second endoscopy
which found a Hiatus Hernia in my esophagus.
At least it showed no ulcers this time--my first endoscopy at age 19 showed an ulcer in the duodenum!
I'm now on the fourth day of your program and started feeling the difference from day one. The most amazing one was actually being able to sleep pretty quickly and not
having my leg, which always felt weird when lying down for a while, keeping me awake!
I know it will be a while until everything I have put my body through completely heals, but now I know how to and am really happy with the results. And what's great, no more
endoscopies!!
Thank you very much!

Dear Sherry:
I have been on your program now for six days and am feeling so much better.
I was diagnosed with GERD and was handed pills. No questions about what I ate or what foods contributed to causing GERD. My doctor just gave me samples of Nexium. I felt my diet was healthy--lots of fruits and vegetables. That is why I thought I could not possibly have GERD. I went on the internet to research it and saw I had a good share of the symptoms, so I guessed the doctor was right on her diagnosis. I felt bloated after meals, had lots of burps, gas, cough, headache, my joints hurt and I felt terrible overall and had no energy. My arthritis seemed to be getting worse.
Then I found your website. There is a lot of merit in your plan and am feeling so much better--only a few burps now and then. Besides that I have lost 4 lbs.
It is nice because you can eat everything, just differently than before. Your recipes have been delicious so far. Last night we had Fish Stew and it was DELICIOUS!
Thank you.

Hi Sherry,
I personally don't suffer from gastric problems but know that food combining the way you teach in Great Taste No Pain is good for the body and can alleviate arthritis,
cholesterol etc.
Your introduction to the program was so easy to follow and the education has been top-notch.
Although I don't have gastric problems, I do have touches of joint pain and stiffness. My husband and I have been on your program for a week now and my joint pain is completely gone, my energy level is consistent, with no energy drops.
Also, I am what you might call a sugar addict. Now I have no cravings for sweets whatsoever and that's incredible.
In a nutshell, I'm a convert to combining and am passing the word to family members who do have gastric difficulties.
Thank you, for making the information so user friendly and clear, I've tried on several occasions in the past to figure out what goes with what and have gotten frustrated and have given up. But not this time.
My weight, the joint pain and the cravings are enough feedback for me to know that I'm on the right track.
