I bought the plan for my 10 year old son, Kristopher. He had a colonoscopy a week ago, Monday. They took tissue samples to check for Celiac Disease and now Crohn’s. The doctor found ulcers in my son’s iliac portion of the G.I. tract.
I researched the internet found your website. The doctor did not write out a prescription after the procedure, so I thought I'd better start him on your Great Taste No pain plan to cure the ulcers asap!
When I told him he had to change his diet, he put his head down on the counter and cried. :(
I tell my son since he had no complaints about pain and that I think his ulcers must be healing by following the plan.
He is supposed to be on prescription laxatives until he stops having potty 'accidents'. He learned to hold in his poop and cannot, so he has accidents during the day. That and his blood tests is what got us to the colonoscopy procedure. With this diet plan I have not given him the laxatives. He is trying very hard at going to the toilet and has been successful 9 out of 10 schooldays in a row!
Perhaps this is a unique circumstance that brought me to you? I just know that I am happy I did. My son will not grow up and into an eating habit that will bring him to more ulcer problems or worse.
Thank you very much,
Sincerely,
Liz Johnson
Sherry,
Last year I had developed H Pylori. I was put on antibiotics for two weeks and it did disappear but to my disappointment the stomach troubles continued. I thought it was heartburn even thought it didn't go away with TUMS. It was so bad I had symptoms with drinking water.
I contacted a gastroenterologist who scoped me and told me I had Chronic Gastritis. I was put on multiple medications from Prevacid, Prilosec, Protonix, and lastly Nexium. No medication kept me symptom free for longer than 3 weeks. The medication was at first once a day then up to twice and when I broke through that they changed the medication. Finally with the Nexium I was told to take Calcium supplements as the Nexium would not allow the Calcium to be properly absorbed in my system GREAT!!!!!!! Now I had to worry about my bones, muscles and heart. I refused to continue taking Nexium and found your web site.
I have to say I was skeptical at first as nothing seemed to work for me. I followed your Great Taste No Pain program for the first 4 days and my symptoms got worse. I kept calling and was told to be patient and keep going. To my amazement after 5 days of eating properly my symptoms disappeared. I have been on the program for about eight weeks now and only have had one episode where my symptoms returned and I think it was because I cheated for a couple of days.
I weaned myself off my Nexium slowly and my gastroenterologist was amazed. I am planning to have a follow up visit with her in the near future to go over my success.
I truly want to thank you for helping me. I have struggled in the past year with my symptoms and am THRILLED that I found something besides Medications to help.
I am very hopeful now and my fears of developing some kind of Cancer from the Gastritis have been relieved.
Thank you again

Hi Sherry,
I've been on your plan for 2 weeks and have some positive results I only just started to realize. The reason that we only very recently applied your full plan into our lives is because of the difficulty to get ingredients for some of your recipes due to some differences between what you call certain ingredients in the US and what it is called in South Africa.
During August 2008, a problem with my Esophageal Sphincter (LES) was identified. I found out that it was not functioning as it should (or at all). I never experienced heartburn and could not understand that I suffered from reflux. The only symptoms were a constant drip in my throat caused by my sinus. My GP prescribed Nexium 40mg and was taking it since that time up until about a week back on a daily basis. I have stopped now for a week and could not do that before. I feel much better and lost about 4.5 kg of weight. Must say from time to time I still experience reflux but the chest pains have subsided.

Hello Sherry;
I have been on your program for about 1 month.
It was hard to get started (loved my junk food) but now I am doing great. My migraines have not come back, and I have lost 10 pounds!! No kidding. Yeah!!!
I stopped my medication (Protonix) and acid reflux came back. I take Prilosec as needed now.
I still get inflammation, but not as bad.
Thank you for making my life better. I have passed on telling friends and family to try your program. They all want to know how I lost so much weight.

Hi Sherry,
Although I have been on the diet for 3 months I was unable to reap the full benefits until I was able to stop the non steroidal anti-inflammatory that I was taking for pain in an injured ankle. After visiting a holistic doctor who was thrilled I was on your diet, we set up some other natural measures to let me come off the Nsaids and then the Prilosec.
Now I understand fully what the diet does for my digestion. If I waiver from the plan I will experience indigestion, but never like I did before reaching this stage of the diet and free of Prilosec and Nsaids.
For those who doubt the diet, it is good to consider the medications you are on and look for more natural means of dealing with joint pain and pain from injuries. Dealing with this has allowed me to really reap the benefits of the diet's ability to keep me free from indigestion and thus to get off the medications which keep my body from fully utilizing the good nutrients that the diet offers.
I am now fully recovered from all medicines and my pain and constipation are over. Thanks for the diet and I am now 100% convinced that it definitely works. I am a new person. Yea for no drugs.

Hi Sherry,
I've only been following your Great Taste No Pain plan for about a week, but already am reaping the benefits. I don't need the 'Tums' by the side of the bed anymore and the Losec and Gaviscon are a thing of the past.
I'm so glad I found your website and followed through on your plan. I have started losing weight already and feel a lot better for it.
Keep up the good work.

Hi Sherry,
I haven't taken a Nexium since last Thursday. I experienced burning and cramping in my upper stomach over the weekend, but today, I am not. Thanks for all the information. I believe it's going to help me tremendously!
God bless you.

Hi Sherry
I am so glad that somebody understands what we go through. To put you in the picture with me… my doctor told me there is no cure for Colitis and gave me Asacol, Normacol (which is a Natural High Fiber) and Spasmo-Canulase. I was taking 6 Asacol daily and now am only taking 3. I have stopped taking the Spasmo-Canulase but I still take the Normacol twice a day but only 1 teaspoon.
I had a running tummy for 3 months and now I go once a day since I have been on your diet. I am into my 10th day of your Great Taste No Pain plan and am enjoying all the Food. It is summer in South Africa now so the salads are great. I think I have lost a kilo already and hope to loose more as I am a little over weight.
Pamela
Dear Sherry,
I ordered your Great Taste No Pain plan because of all the diseases/ailments it seemed to eliminate. I do get stomach discomfort or pain- (where do we draw the line?) quite often and just ignore it as well as possible. Often if interferes with the active job I have 3 days a week, or the pleasure of enjoying our grandchildren on the weekends. My memory is poor, and my determination fairly strong, so I have just gone on, hoping it will soon disappear, not tracking the frequency, etc.
I take 2 different enzymes to help with digestion, and the Dr. said if I need more it's Zanax, which I've avoided so far. It seems to certainly result from my eating, judging by the timing and the fact that it does go away after a while. When I received the info about your plan and eventually started on the program, I was thrilled to observe that I was not getting the pain! That was delightful. I figured I was being over careful, since my problem had been so minor, and went back to my poorly combined food. And back to the soreness in my gut! Telling myself how foolish that had been I returned to paying attention and eating better--Success!
It's clear as a bell, eat well, feel well; eat poorly, feel poorly! Being free of that ache makes my job so much more fulfilling, rather than anguishing silently and watching the clock as I serve my clients! Now I'm my enthusiastic, cheerful self and glad to be with them! I've eliminated one of the enzymes, the one I took after each meal, and only take one in the morning, which I could probably eliminate also, but am chicken so far.
Thank you so much for the work you've done to compile the charts, recipes and information to make this as easy as possible to enjoy the tasty foods, feel well and stay active.
Gratefully,
Mary C.
Hi Sherry
An update - getting on very well .Having done your Great Taste No Pain plan I am continuing following the 30 day plan. There are great recipe options and not difficult to keep up. My wife is also very happy as it has given her lots of energy - the sluggish feeling has gone. I have given up all my anti-spasmodics and aloe vera as I don’t need them any more. We look forward to a new day to try a new recipe suggestion.
