Hi Sherry,

By following your program I have lost 13 pounds and have only taken ¾ antacid chewable tablets in 3 months. My blood pressure is below normal and I feel a whole lot better. I want to ‘Thank You’ for putting your program on the internet.

Hello Sherry,

I am so pleased so say that only after ONE week of following your eating plan I am finally pain free! I just wanted to thank you & let you know I am sharing with everyone who has a colon issue that your plan works!

May I say that I have been in agony only a brief time... taken to the ER while traveling in Waco, Texas last Nov with extreme pain... and I mean PAIN (the child birth kind!!)

The CT scans revealed the dreaded diagnosis: Diverticulitis and Diverticulosis. Yikes!! What in the world did this mean to me? With a surgeon on standby; heavy pain meds and IV pumping large amounts of antibiotics into me I began to pray.

I was very afraid of the impending news from any surgeon. I tried to remain calm, eating or drinking nothing by mouth for 4 days; gradually I was put on the wonderful liquid then soft diets...you guessed it... "combining" this stuff brought me nothing more than more... you guessed right again… pain...

I was released with narcotics & more antibiotics and told to stay on a soft or "bland" diet. I attempted on my own to eat baby type foods... thinking again, I gotta get this under some kind of control. Traveling was making matters worse but I was trying to make it work aboard our RV in my own kitchen. I blended, mashed and "combined" the wrong stuff... still in pain...

Then I researched the disease and found your site. I didn't believe you at first. I was a “doubting Thomas." I began to eat & combine foods again, thinking the little pain was okay to live with... then another Whammy in February - I passed out in a restaurant; rushed again to an ER...

I consulted a Gastroenteritis Specialist. We did the colonoscopy and more CT scans and more meds... more anti spasm stuff and more antibiotics... nothing was working. He told me I ought to consider the removal of the infected part of my colon with the infection and disease. I burst into tears. A bag for a couple of months then I could go back in & have it taken out... Oh my!! Oh, how I was NOT going to go there unless he told me it was life or death... he couldn't. I began to remember you, Sherry & your website & your story directly after leaving his office. I decided it was time I lived pain FREE...

I am TOTALLY PAIN FREE and even losing more weight. I wanted & needed to lose this last 45 lbs I have been packing around. 4 years ago I weighed nearly 300lbs & had high blood pressure that was out of control. In short I was a mess. I have lost almost 90 lbs to date and my blood pressure is under control. This week I cleaned out my pantry and gave away all the "bad" processed stuff to a food shelter.

I am ever indebted to you Sherry!! My only desire now is to share this with others and that one day I may have the honor of meeting you in person!

May God Bless you & your wonderful encouraging words and your eating plan. I am a changed woman today!

Blessings! With much Gratitude & a Thankful Heart, I remain pain free,

Carol Haines

Dear Sherry;

I just wanted to share with you the wonderful results I have experienced since beginning your program.

I came about your website from a friend who has studied nutrition for years. He has been eating and advising me to eat in a way similar to your program for the past 20 years. And yet, I always fell off the wagon, not convinced that this was the lifestyle I wanted or needed. I was a confirmed “junk food junkie”. I loved my sodas, chips and chocolate. It was a way of life.

The way I ate reflected in my weight. And everything that has ever been wrong with me in my life has been directly related to my being overweight. I was told I couldn’t get pregnant (took us 8 years), had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, depression, breast cancer, debilitating headaches and fatigue. Not a pretty picture for someone not even 50 years old.

In March 2007, I had Gastric By-Pass Surgery because I had hit my all time highest weight of 323 pounds. I thought the surgery would be a quick fix for my problems. And from the beginning it was. I lost 75 pounds in the first six months. And that is where I stayed, still having 75 pounds to lose. I have been stuck ever since and even gained 20 pounds during the holidays this past year.

Recently, I realized I was a food addict being of the obsessive, compulsive type. I am an emotional eater on top of being a real lover of good food. I had to come to grips with this reality. I wanted to be better to my body but wasn’t sure how to do it. I needed a plan.

This simplicity of your eating plan is a winner! I love it and I lost 6 pounds the first 4 days on the diet. I am not starving all the time, my energy level has noticeably increased and, although I didn’t realize I had been retaining fluid, it is gone. I have not had a problem with elimination but that too has improved. I am comfortable eating the suggested foods and totally enjoy most of them. It is even manageable for eating out.

. Thank you for sharing your success with the rest of us. We all will be healthier because of your efforts.

Sincerely,

Mava Jalufka

Sherry,

I had severe pain for 24 hrs. Went to the doctor and was diagnosed with diverticulitis. I wasn't told anything except don't eat heavy foods or alcohol for a few days.

I found your web site and tried your Great Taste No Pain plan for a few days. It was amazing what happened. I have had bloating and gas for most of my life - after a few days I had none. My energy came back; my knees stopped hurting because I lost weight while on this diet.

I have continued eating the correct foods and will continue to do so until I have lost the weight I want to. I was able to stop my blood pressure medicine and high cholesterol medicine due to losing the weight. I am off of my acid reflux medicine due to the diet.

So, thank you for the wonderful recipes and helping me to return to good health.

Sherry,

I was eating a lot of the things you instructed in your plan. I did it in the order you prescribed and I've seen a definite difference in my body. I'm a type 1 diabetic, so I'll never be able to get off the insulin completely, but I've been able to cut down on the amount of insulin I take. I'm also a breast cancer survivor and have had a stroke in the past. I've been able to cut down on my blood pressure meds and have had less trouble with my acid reflux and have cut down on those meds as well. In time, I'm hoping to cut most of those meds out.

Thanks so much for everything!!

Hello Sherry,

I have now been on your plan for about 2 weeks and I tell you I am feeling much better. Leading up to my surgery on 09/04/2008 (partial hysterectomy), I was having these choking coughing spells that would awaken me during the night. After about a month of this, I finally had enough and decided to call my GP, who said it sounded like I had acid reflux because the coughing was happening during the night. Now I was a little shocked because I didn't have what they called the classic GERD symptoms. No burning, etc. I thought that I had allergy issues. Well I was put on Nexium and also diagnosed with a sinus infection.

I went in for my surgery and as a result of the surgery, my blood pressure and pulse rate went way up. I saw specialist after specialist only to be placed on Atenolol for the elevated pulse rate. I went to an allergist and was put on antibiotics again for what she called an unresolved sinus infection. I later went through the allergy test and found out that I was allergic to just about everything and was give an inhaler. I saw a gastro specialist and was told that I have mild signs of Esophagitis.

After starting your program my blood pressure went way down, 95/58 and the Atenolol had to be adjusted to half of the dose. I am sleeping so peacefully at night that it is unreal and on only one pillow! I was on Lipitor and am no longer on this medication. I am so happy to have found your plan. Kudos to you and your hard work.

May God Bless you because you certainly have been a blessing to me and my health.

Thanks,

Cynthia Green

Sherry:

I've been following your program for the past 4 days or so. I noticed immediate results in my stomach pain. I'm taking medications for cholesterol, blood pressure and diabetes. I want to beat them all! I can't wait to pass on the good news to family and friends.

Thanks so much for sharing your plan!

Hello Sherry,

I feel like a walking infomercial for your Great Taste No Pain plan. I have sent your website to so many of my friends and family that I have lost track of who I have and have not sent it to. I even approached an acquaintance in church who I wondered might benefit from it. I am on my 10th day.

I suffer from GERD, gastritis in the form of stomach ulcers (not the kind of ulcers caused by H-Pylori), hiatal hernia, allergies, and extreme sinus drainage. I have for a long time thought that the sinus drainage was my body's way of protecting my throat and stomach from the intense acid always present in my system. Since being on your program, I am convinced that I was correct.

With the hiatal hernia comes frequent vomiting. When I ate I never knew if I would be able to keep it down. I tried to keep my meals small but that did not always help. Then I did not know which food would trigger it next (I do now). Because of all my sinus drainage I coughed frequently and that often triggered the gag reflex too.

After one day on the plan the pain was close to gone. I still had that 'tender' feeling that is kind of like the day after the flu. The problem is gone but it takes time to heal especially the ulcers. After four days my sinus drainage was 90% gone. I still have allergies and I believe that is why it is not entirely gone. I have great hope that as my immune system recovers maybe even the allergies could be gone. Again it takes time to heal.

On day five of the plan I hit a glitch. I attended a daylong seminar on diabetes with my husband where the food was provided for us. The lunch was nutritious and simple. I thought "I've got a suspicion this could be a problem” But I did not know for sure - so I ate it. Ten minutes after I ate I was in the bathroom and up it came. Needless to say since then, if it's not proper food combining on your plan I won't eat it.

Here are the medications I am on and how they have changed:

Prilosec - previously taken twice daily. Now once daily (until the ulcers are healed)

Claritin D 24-hr - changed to plain Claritin (no decongestant needed)

Mucinex DM extra strength 12 hr - previously taken twice daily. Now no longer needed.

Flonase nose spray - previously taken once daily. Now no longer needed.

Fiber tablets for constipation - previously two tablets once daily. Now no longer needed

Calcium tablet (I am allergic to milk) - no change at present

I also take medication for thyroid and blood pressure. I will not change these without my doctor's approval. And I will not approach him on those until I have been on the program long enough to feel stable with all the changes I have already made on my own.

Your program is wonderful. I love that it is a lifestyle change that is easy to make - one that does not make me feel deprived at all.

Thank you,

Diane and Richard Pline

Dear Sherry:

After turning forty, I found my body failing me at every turn. Along with gradually gaining weight, I developed migraines and bone spurs and had to get bifocals. Then came the high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and hot flashes. When the biggies arrived--osteoporosis, diverticulitis, and most recently, diabetes--I felt like a chubby poster child for what happens when you think you're healthy but you're not.

This past fall I was still trying desperately to eat "balanced meals" and I was miserable. Eventually my doctor suggested a high protein/low carb diet, leaving out the veggies and fruits which appeared to tear up my digestive system. That worked with green beans as the only vegetable I could tolerate, and bananas as my only fruit. But at the same time, my glucose levels continued to rise and I was diagnosed with diabetes. Ten days ago I met with a diabetic case worker, started to monitor my glucose levels several times per day, and was told to follow a diabetic diet--which stresses fruits and vegetables. Medication for the diabetes was forthcoming.

A week ago, trying to accommodate the diverticulitis diet AND the diabetic diet led me to the Internet which in turn led me to Great Taste No Pain. Within the first two days of trying the plan, I was eating salads, vegetables, and fruit again...and feeling great. I wasn't hungry an hour after eating. I didn't crave sweets. I gave up coffee for tea [still with caffeine but not nearly as acidic]. My digestive system calmed down immediately. I have now been following the plan for 7 days, I feel great, and have lost about 5 pounds. But here is the best news: My glucose levels are consistently within the normal range. I can't wait to return to the clinic next week and have them see what has happened.

I have never been a big believer in "diets" and have probably never stayed with one for over two days! But GTNP is different. And for me, it has become a whole new way of taking care of myself. My friends are already getting tired of hearing me talk about it, but maybe they too will eventually realize that GTNP makes one heck of a lot of sense!

Thanks!

PS: The recipe for Salmon with Brown Sugar Glaze is wonderful!

Hi Sherry:

I am a 60 year old female who is 100 pounds overweight. I have always struggled with my weight and tried a lot of different diets, but the weight gets to be more as the years go by. I’ve lost it and gained it back several times. I knew there had to be something about the food I ate, but I didn’t know what.

There would be some days I accidentally ate correctly and I would feel fine. I am a good cook and LOVE to eat even though it hurts and I get sick. I am never constipated, but take medicine for high blood pressure, high cholesterol; acid reflux and I have a hiatus hernia. I had part of my colon removed because of diverticulitis several years ago.

I just got over a BAD episode when I found your web site and ordered your plan. I am on day four and I feel SOOO much better. I’m not hungry and the recipes are delicious. I don’t have restless leg syndrome because they don’t keep me awake at night, but there are times when I can’t stop moving them. That has stopped in only four days! I wish I had known about you years ago, but am so glad I found you. It is so good to feel like a “normal” person again. Thank you for helping me and so many others.

Happy in Michigan,

Michon Felton
