A recent government study reported that more than half
(52%) of diabetics also have arthritis.
It's surprising that the percentage is that low.
I say that because diabetes and arthritis are both classic
examples of what being in a state of acidosis (having an
excessively acid pH--under 7.0) does to your body.
In yesterday's email I talked about 6 organs in the body
and how they're harmed by acid. The pancreas is the one
that secretes insulin to regulate blood sugar, but it can't
function in an acid environment.
A pancreas that can't do its job is the perfect recipe for
diabetes.
What I didn't mention yesterday was what acid does to your
joints, muscles and connective tissues.
When you eat acid-creating foods or improperly combine
your foods, the acid doesn't just stay in your digestive
system. It gets absorbed into your bloodstream and your
lymph system, which then carry it everywhere from head to
toe.
This puts your whole body into a state of inflammation.
And when your body's inflamed, it can't heal itself. It
can't use vitamins and minerals, no matter how many
supplements you swallow. Tumor cells can thrive and grow
like dandelions.
And you are susceptible to any number of conditions like:
* Arthritis
* Lupus
* Osteoporosis
* Fibromylagia
* Cancer
* Chronic fatigue
...and more.
Here's what Dr. John Klippel, president of the Arthritis
Foundation, said about the high percentage of people with
both diabetes and arthritis: "If we're ever going to
successfully control a disease like diabetes, we're going
to have to pay a lot of attention to arthritis."
True, but what he should have done is explain what people
are doing to help CAUSE these diseases, and how they can
prevent becoming a target of disease.
Since he didn't do it, I will.
For your own health (and life), your MUST keep yourself in
an alkaline state. That's having a pH of at least 7.0.
(7.35 - 7.45 is ideal.)
The single most effective and long lasting way to attain
and maintain an alkaline pH is to eat mainly alkaline
foods, and correctly combine your foods so they're easily
digested by the body.
Great Taste No Pain will make it easy. You'll know
exactly which foods are acid-creating and which are
alkaline, you'll learn what foods combine perfectly
together (and what combos to avoid), and the recipes are so
scrumptious, you'll love every single bite.
