My daughter's shocking visit to the doctor

Hello my friend:

This is a continuation of yesterday's email where I talked
about the growing dependence on drugs.  Wait until you hear
this story.

My 20 year-old daughter Danielle went to the doctor last
week because she's been getting headaches, feeling tired
and having trouble sleeping.

She's a college student who works two jobs, takes karate
classes with me and has a boyfriend that she spends time
with, so she's got a very full plate.

I told her I truly believed her symptoms were stress-
related because she's got so much going on, and she would
feel better switching from her Setting & Achieving Goals CD
for awhile to a Dissolving Panic & Anxiety CD
- http://www.thinkrightnow.com/a/anxiety.asp
but if it gives her a sense of relief and assurance to see
a doctor, then definitely do so.

She said spent a little less than 9 minutes in the
examining room telling this woman about her symptoms.

Without hesitation, almost on cue, this woman took out her
trusty pad and wrote a prescription for...

Prozac - the anti-depressant.

My daughter said, "I'm not depressed, and even if I was, I
wouldn't take that crap.  Don't you know about the side
effects of that drug?  And don't you have any other answers
for me besides drugs?"

That's my girl!

The doctor said that yes, she had some stress-relieving
strategies as well, but the Prozac will "help things along."

Funny that the doctor didn't tell her about those
strategies even after saying she knew some.

Danielle thanked her for her time, got up and left.

No worries.  I told her what to do, and she started
feeling better in less than 24 hours... I only encouraged
her to see a doctor to rule out anything *seriously* serious.

This ridiculous scenario is happening in doctors' offices
everywhere, and so many people are blind to the fact that
they're being hastily and needlessly drugged because they
see their doctor as a trusted expert that they think has
ALL the answers.  So when this "expert" slips them the
sheet of paper, people think, "This MUST be the best answer."

Way too often that assumption is completely wrong.

My brother is an MD, and I can tell you that he says he
feels incredible pressure to just hand out drugs and see as
many patients as possible.

The sad truth is most doctors (not all) only know as much
as they've been told by the pharmaceutical companies.  And
since the focus of their "formal" education is three fold:

1- The human body and anatomy
2- What can go wrong with the body
3- What to do about what goes wrong (i.e.: drugs and
surgery)

...they don't HAVE any other answers, unless they've taken
it upon themselves to get additional training in non-
traditional therapies or principles.  There aren't that
many of those doctors in the average medical clinic.
Because doing that puts their medical license at risk.
That's right.  If they push prevention too much, they are
literally risking their jobs and futures.

Let me point out this is not a doctor-bashing session.  As
I said, my brother is an MD.

I'm also not saying all drugs are bad.  They are not.
Countless lives have been saved from medication.

The problem is that drugs have become the answer to ALL
health issues in our society... even though they aren't.

There is no "magic pill" to reverse the effects of eating
processed and acid-creating food, sedentary lifestyles and
habits (like schmoke-ing among others).

And drugs come with their own long list of side effects
(some of which can kill you) that can leave you feeling
worse than you did before you started taking the drug!

When this happens, chances are you'll get more drugs to
counteract the side effects of the first drug.  And you'll
be on the white coat treadmill until you do something
yourself to get off it.

It's essential to respect the body and give it what it
truly needs.  Humans weren't meant to rely on drugs to
create false health...yet more than half of Americans take
drugs everyday and that number continues to grow.  Children
are even being drugged so they can sit still in class and
concentrate, for heaven's sake.

When you give the body what it needs, it responds
beautifully.  Lots of healthy alkaline-rich foods to get
all the vitamins and nutrients you need for good mental and
physical health.  Eating good combinations of foods for
easy digestion and to prevent overproduction of acid.  And
an alkaline pH to help create an overall state of great
health.  Goodbye unnecessary drugs.

Great Taste No Pain is all you need.  It's easy,
delicious, and is your ticket to get off the white coat
treadmill and stay off.

PS:  The body responds beautifully to Great Taste No
Pain...and quickly, as Catherine notes:

Hi Sherry:

Usually one has to wait weeks and maybe months for results
to a change of diet or lifestyle.

OK - it's been only three days - but so far that's three
days without my nightly intake of Gaviscon (my GP even
gives it to me on prescription - huge great bottles!).  I
usually can't lie down without the pain starting
immediately.  But so far on your program...no Gaviscon.

Best wishes to all

Catherine
