I got an interesting question yesterday from a client
named Annette asking about shingles. She wrote:

people seem to be experiencing.
However, I have not noticed anything yet concerning the
"shingles."
My cousin now has a bad case of them which is very painful
and in need of relief. I'm wondering about recommending
this way of eating to her for this problem.
Great Taste No Pain has certainly helped me concerning my
problem with diverticular disease and have noticed the many
other problems it has also seemed to solve, so I'm in hopes
of it being a relief for the shingles too.

Now about shingles.
Shingles is a reoccurrence of the varicella-zoster virus--
the virus that causes chickenpox.
For most people, after you've had chickenpox, the virus
just sits inactive in your nerve roots. But in some
people, it flares up again. Only instead of getting
chickenpox again, you get shingles.
(Note: If you've gotten a chickenpox vaccine, that will
protect you against shingles as well.)
Shingles usually has 3 stages. The first stage is where
you get increased sensitivity in your skin and may get flu-
like symptoms. In the next stage the rash and blisters
appear. The third stage brings horrible pain to the rash
areas that can last for months or even years.
The typical treatment from the medical community is, of
course, medication--pain pills, steroids and antibiotics.
Surgery is even done in extreme cases.
But there's a better way.
You see, shingles are a virus.
And it's a scientific fact that viruses cannot exist in an
alkaline environment--they wither away and die. They must
have an acid environment to thrive.
The same goes for disease. Diseases (including cancer,
arthritis, lupus, fibromyalgia, diabetes and osteoporosis)
all need an acid environment to survive.
So it's common sense that if you take away the breeding
ground (an acid body), and change it to an alkaline body,
you are no longer a home for viruses (including shingles),
as well as numerous diseases to thrive, grow, and cause
pain, sickness and possibly early death.

lot of my favorite meals.
I am 78 Years old and migrated from Germany 54 Years ago
to Australia. Like you I ate a lot of fresh fruit and
