It's still gorgeous here. We got a little rain this
morning, but now it's sunny and blue skies as far as the
eyes can see.
I love people, and strike up conversations with people I
don't know everywhere I go...and the fitness center of a
resort hotel is a great place to chat.
This morning I was on a treadmill next to a woman named
Jody. She was huffing and puffing, saying that she needed
to burn off the cheesecake she had for dessert last night.
I laughed, and asked how long she'd been in Aruba. She
told me she's been here a week and is leaving tomorrow.
Then Jody said something kind of sad. She explained that
she loves to go on vacation, but she always ends up
regretting it because she puts on 5 pounds each time she
goes.
The very sad truth is that thousands of people are like
Jody.
There is a better way.
It's the same way I manage to never gain an ounce on
vacation, over holidays or after big parties.
You see, when you have doable standards that you will not
break and live every day feeding your body the way it was
designed to be fed, excess pounds are not an issue. Here's
why:
Our bodies are alkaline by design...it's part of the
reason why the human body can live longer than other
mammals. All of our organs and systems work their best--
perfectly, actually--in an alkaline environment.
When a human body is too acidic, it doesn't function
properly and it begins to literally break down. And you
get pain, sickness, disease and...obesity.
So if you hurt, are sick or are fat, you are acidic.
Period.
Eating 50-70+% alkaline foods (by weight) and combining
your foods in the way that keeps digestive acid low is
the key (besides exercise) to vacations (and every day)
without extra poundage.
When you eat foods that play nice together, digestion is a
snap and your food glides through the intestines smoothly.
No more toxic waste build-up, constipation or straining.
All of this means a trimmer, smaller you and a much
flatter stomach.
I'll show you what foods to eat and how simple and
scrumptious it is to eat the right foods together in Great
Taste No Pain. And when correctly combining your foods is
a way of life, you CAN indulge in a dessert, an exotic
frozen drink or other indulgence occasionally and not worry
about packing on pounds.
I NEVER deprive myself on special occasions, holidays or
vacations. As a matter of fact, I just finished a
delicious frozen raspberry daiquiri by the side of the pool.
But because it's a once in a while thing, not an every day
thing, I'll return home from Aruba and see the same scale
number as when I left.
Treat your body right 12 months a year and it will return
the favor with health, energy and forgiveness for your
occasional indulgences.
