I got a great question today that I'll share with you
because I suspect a lot of people are wondering about this
particular condition.
Here's what he says:

Hi Sherry,
I do have a problem but don't see any mention of it in
your articles--it's Gout.
What happened to me at my doctor's appointment yesterday
may interest you:
I went to see my doctor for the first time in a very long
time because I don't get sick much (touch wood).
He became quite angry with me when I asked him if there
was another way of treating my gout other than drugs. He
was adamant that, "You cannot be treated in any other way
than taking these tablets."
I fail to see that this is true. Are you aware of Gout?
And can you help me?
David

SB: David, I'm so glad you wrote. Sounds like your
doctor wants to get you on his white coat treadmill. Yes,
I'm aware of gout and yes, Great Taste No Pain can help
you.
Gout is a very painful arthritic condition that is caused
by a build-up of uric acid in the joints.
Here's how the build-up occurs:
When high protein foods (specifically animal products--
meat and dairy) are digested by the body, they're broken
down into their specific amino acids (these are "good"
acids which are used to build healthy tissue) and uric acid-
-a "bad" acid waste.
They're both absorbed into the bloodstream after
digestion, and the amino acids are used throughout the body
wherever they're needed.
The kidneys are responsible for filtering the uric acid
out of the bloodstream and dumping it into the urine to be
excreted.
This is all well and good...except for when the kidneys
can't do their job.
When you have a diet of mainly acidic foods and don't
correctly combine your meals, this leads to an acidic pH in
the body (including the bloodstream).
Blood is our life force, traveling throughout the body and
nourishing our tissues and organs. But when the blood is
acidic, instead of just the nourishment they crave, your
organs end up with all that acid.
Your organs do not and can not function in an acid
environment--they must have an alkaline environment.
So when you're acidic, ALL of your organs are stressed,
including your kidneys.
And when your kidneys are stressed, they do not filter the
uric acid out of your blood like they should. Instead, it
builds up, gets transported all over your body through the
bloodstream and settles...in your joints.
Voila--you end up with gout.
And the only answer that most doctors (including David's)
have is to take drugs...which throws your body into chaos
because drugs don't just affect the target, they affect
many other bodily functions, too.
I have news for them: Unless you change what's creating
the uric acid build-up in the body to begin with--your diet-
-the gout will continue to recur.
And NO DRUG IN THE WORLD will change that.
But Great Taste No Pain will.
Let me show you how to keep your pH more alkaline and as a
result, make all your organs work better.
Not only will an alkaline pH help keep away gout, but many
other conditions that are linked to acidity--including high
blood pressure, MS, osteoporosis, Alzheimer's disease,
depression and diabetes.
Thank you for creating your step by step plan--I have had
excellent results.
The pain I was experiencing was getting worse as I not
only have IBS but also a hiatal hernia.
Two weeks ago the pain was that bad I had to get my
daughter to call an ambulance. I was sick for about a
week. That was when I decided there has to be a better way
of living than this so I searched the web and found your
site.
I haven't had to take my Nexium tablets for three days
which is great because before then I was relying on them
everyday to help with the pain.
