I got a great question from a thoughtful client who is
concerned about her seriously ailing brother-in-law...who
is only 51.
Here's what she asked:
*******************
Dear Sherry;
I'm wondering if you can take this one on...My dear
brother-in-law has SEVERAL health issues:
1. Lupus
2. Congestive heart failure (has had open heart surgery
plus pace maker)
3. Kidney failure (is on dialysis now)
In other words he has been in bad shape for a long time.
He is on too many medications to count. Is there a way to
get him better through diet???
Thanks for any help that you can give me. BTW he is 51
years old.
Teresa

SB: Yes, Teresa, your brother-in-law can most definitely
be helped by changes in his diet. Here's why:
Lupus, heart disease and kidney disease are ALL connected
to having an acidic pH.
Blood is our life force and nourishes all of our organs
and tissues. However, when the blood is acidic, that acid
is transported throughout the body and harms us in
countless ways. Plus the acid wastes that build up in our
bodies rob the blood of oxygen, which our cells desperately
need.
When your body is acidic, it lives in a state of
inflammation. It can't heal itself. Its immune system is
greatly weakened. Aches and pains are a result.
And that's when all kinds of sickness and disease can
develop.
So it's not hard to see why lupus is connected to acidity.
Lupus is an autoimmune disease that can affect the joints
and almost every major organ in the body, including the
heart, kidneys, skin, lungs, and brain.
With lupus, the immune system malfunctions and can't tell
the difference between foreign substances and its own cells
and tissues. So it makes antibodies that fight against
itself. These antibodies cause extreme inflammation, pain
and damage to various parts of the body.
And having an acidic body that's already in a state of
inflammation and has a stressed immune system certainly
makes it easier for lupus to develop.
As far as the heart is concerned, in addition to lupus
affecting it, acidic blood also does a number on it as
well.
The heart pumps 13,000 quarts of blood a day...
That's enough to fill a 4 foot deep, 12 foot wide swimming
pool!
When there are toxins in all that blood, imagine the
enormous strain that's puts on your heart. The decreased
oxygen in the blood (because of acid wastes) causes your
heart tissue to deteriorate.
The result: Heart disease and/or heart failure can occur.
Now for the kidneys.
As I mentioned above, lupus causes kidney inflammation,
but so does having acidic blood.
The kidneys make urine and help get rid of excess acids
from the body. One liter of blood passes through them
every minute--that's nearly 1,500 liters each day.
When that blood is loaded with acid and toxins, your
kidneys are over-stressed and unable to do their job. And
you end up a prime candidate for kidney stones, kidney
disease and ultimately... kidney failure.
That's the bad news...
But the good news is that the body is an amazing machine
that responds quickly to making the pH more alkaline--by
eating lots of alkaline foods and properly combining your
meals.
And even though some people (like Teresa's brother-in-law)
may be chronically ill and on numerous medications, having
a more alkaline pH enables the body to repair itself and
heal.
Changes that will occur include:
* Less or no medications needed
* Lessening in the severity of pain or elimination of it
altogether
* Improved immune system
* More energy
* Better sleep
So, yes, Teresa, your brother-in-law most definitely can
be helped by eating the way I teach in Great Taste No Pain.

I urge you to get him on the plan asap, and please write
back and let us know how he's doing.
However, over time, people who have chronic health
problems get used to it. Sick becomes who they are--their
identity.
So while your brother CAN be helped, the question of WILL
he accept the help is another question altogether.
I hope he chooses health and accepts the help.
To YOUR health,
Sherry Brescia
PS: Vanessa has her life back at age 54:
*******************
Hi Sherry,
I too have had IBS and a hiatal hernia and taken the
famous purple pill "Nexium" for years.
Three weeks ago, I got really sick with yet another
episode of gastritis and colitis and was on Carafte and an
antispasmodic drug along with my Nexium.
I got so tired of all this and decided to take matters in
my own hands this time, and this is when I found your
wonderful web site.
I am quite sure this was a message straight from God.
Thank you so much for helping me! I ordered the program
and as long as I follow it to the letter, I do just great.
I know this is the way I am supposed to eat because I feel
so much better. I have also lost 9 lbs in three weeks and
have a great deal more energy.
Again, thank you for giving me my life back and at 54, I
can finally start living!
