Question: The average American eats more than 150 pounds
of this every single year. What is it?
Answer: Sugar
What's really startling is that back in 1900 the average
person ate only 5 pounds per year.
We're eating 30 TIMES the amount of sugar that our
ancestors did!
30 TIMES! 30!
So it's not a surprise that we're fatter and sicker than
they were too.
In fact, Americans are the fattest, sickest people on Earth.
Sugar is addictive and deadly. In addition to the obvious
obesity it causes, it boosts insulin in your blood and can
cause or make worse:
- asthma
- diabetes
- heart disease
- gallstones
- high blood pressure
- arthritis
- mood swings and personality changes
- mental illness and nervous disorders
- concentration and learning difficulties in children
Excessive sugar intake throws our pH COMPLETELY out of
whack and makes us acidic as hell. Plus the combination of
the acidity and sugar create the perfect environment in the
body for dangerous yeasts, fungi (including candidiasis)
and bacteria to develop.
Yeasts, bacteria and fungi feed on, you guessed it...sugar!
And with sugar, it multiplies faster than rabbits in July.
So when we're loaded with these dangerous invaders, we
often get cravings for even more sweets, pasta, bread and
soda--we literally end up a slave, feeding the sickness in
our bodies.
Now I know some people can't fathom that they eat 30 5-
pound bags of sugar a year.
Most of you reading this won't believe it...
...I didn't say the sugar all came from a bag.
Oh, no... most of the sugar we're eating is HIDDEN.
It's being added to hundreds of products, many of which
are marketed as "healthy."
Here are some examples:
=============
Sports drinks
=============
Whether it's Gatorade, Vitamin Water, G2, Sobe Life Water,
Red Bull, Dasani Plus, Aquafina Alive, Powerade or any
similar beverage, it's LOADED with sugar (and acids too,
making you even more acidic).
When you work out, drink water. I do brutal martial arts
workouts 5 days a week and all I ever drink during and
after a workout is water. And no one outworks me at my dojo.
Don't let the beverage giants trick you into thinking you
need the "special ingredients" in their processed, sugary
concoctions to replenish your body after exercise. High
Fructose Corn Syrup is one of their main ingredients, the
thing that gives energy... and sends you into the downward
spiral of exhaustion later, and poor health--ongoing.
Because if you have an alkaline pH and eat a well-rounded,
properly combined, low acid diet like I teach in Great
Taste No Pain http://www.greattastenopain.com/great.asp
your body will be plenty nourished without the need for
processed drinks.
=================
Breakfast cereals
=================
Sugar is typically within the first 3 ingredients on many
cereal boxes (especially kids' cereals), meaning there's a
high concentration of sugar in there.
The food giants are clever in their marketing, and are
sure to sprinkle in some vitamins to make their products
sound healthy.
But since cereals are processed food, the kids that eat
them can't even use the vitamins in them because the
cereals actually make their bodies too acidic to absorb the
vitamins. The acid destroys the vitamins. Ironic, huh?
Sugar is linked to hyperactivity and learning difficulties
in kids.
So instead of giving Ritalin (which can cause irreparable
harm, including a permanent tic disorder called Tardive
Dyskinesia) to kids labeled as ADD or ADHD, get them the
hell off of kids' cereals, make them a REAL breakfast like
I teach in Great Taste No Pain http://www.greattastenopain.com/great.asp and see how much
better they perform in school.

Soda
====
Soda is loaded with sugar--typical sodas contain between 8-
11 teaspoons of sugar! Plus they are so acidic that you
need to drink 32 glasses of water to neutralize the acid in
just one can of soda. Take out a teaspoon and measure out
11 teaspoons of sugar and dump it on a plate and look at
it. THAT much sugar is in just one can of soda.
Do yourself a favor--drink water instead. Or if you need
something a little sweet, try fresh fruit or vegetable
juice, or herbal tea.
==========
The whites
==========
White flour and products made with it (like pasta, white
bread and baked goods) and white rice are acid forming,
plus the refined carbohydrates act just like sugar in your
body.
Sugar is also hidden in many other products like:
Dry roasted nuts
Snack crackers
Lunch meats
Peanut butter
Breading mixes (for meats)
Canned salmon
Granola bars and energy bars
Iced tea, Snapple juice beverages
Jarred spaghetti sauce and salsa
Juice drinks and juice boxes
Commercial Salad dressings
Ketchup
Pickle relish
All of those products are considered processed food. Yet
another reason to stay the heck away from them as much as
possible... if you want to be less sick, more energetic, be
pain-free and at a normal weight, that is.
If you do buy processed food (such as peanut butter) make
sure it's organic and has no added sugar. Read labels--the
word sugar can also be disguised as:
Glucose
Fructose
High fructose corn syrup
Corn syrup
Mannose
Galactose
Or any other "-ose" you happen to see
Molasses
Take the important steps to limit your intake of this
deadly, addictive substance. Your body will thank you by
feeling energetic, sleeping better and getting to and
staying at a normal weight.
