Myth busted - It's not the broccoli

Hi my friend:

As I was enjoying dinner with my family last night (juicy
pan seared salmon, crisp roasted broccoli and tossed
salad), my mind flashed back to a Memorial Day picnic I
went to back in 1990.

(1990 was THE painful year for me--when my IBS reached an
all-time excruciating high and put me in the hospital for a
week.)

On that Memorial Day I was at a park with my daughter, my
friend Doris and her three sons.  We were having a great
time playing frisbee, badminton and having a lot of laughs.

When it came time to eat, I noticed Doris made her famous
broccoli salad.

Uh-oh.  That salad looked so good, but I was afraid to
have it.  I had vivid memories of being in the hospital
just 4 months earlier in excruciating pain, with bleeding,
being fed by IV and getting every humiliating test they
could think of.

My gastroenterologist told me to stay away from broccoli,
cabbage, nuts, fruit and spicy foods.

And I had been listening to him, but I was frustrated
because even though I stayed away from those foods, I was
still having daily excruciating pain and stomach bloating.

Doris suggested that I just try a tiny bite--one little
bite of broccoli can't hurt anyone, right?

Within 30 minutes, I was in so much agony, I had to leave
the picnic.

I cursed that broccoli all the way home.

It wasn't until two years later when I realized how wrong
I was.

That's when I learned about how to correctly eat foods
with the right other foods (like I now teach in Great Taste
No Pain) and how my horrible food combos had kept me in
daily agony for so long.

That's when I realized that it wasn't the broccoli that
did me in that day--it was the 3 or 4 other foods that I
ate with the broccoli that put me over the edge.

As I was telling my husband Mike this story during dinner
last night, he asked, "How did you feel the first time you
went to eat broccoli AFTER you learned about how to do it
right?"

I admitted that I was scared!

But I trusted that this way of eating was right, so I went
ahead and piled the broccoli high on my plate.

And...

Nothing.

No pain.  No bloating.  No gas.

Nothing but my taste buds dancing and me jumping for joy.

I had finally arrived.  My pain-free life was a reality,
and still is over 16 years since that day.

And I want to help you do the same.

I promise you that if you do what I teach in Great Taste
No Pain, you will be able to eat broccoli (and a whole lot

PS:  Great Taste No Pain has even helped an elderly lady
with dementia:

Dear Sherry:

I was recommended to your web site by my Mom.

She has been using your plan and is feeling wonderful--no
more pain, headaches (which most often would turn into
migraines), she is off of all but 1 of her medications and
has been sleeping through the night again.

She has recommended your plan to many others who have also
tried it.  The most amazing one is an elderly lady who was
diagnosed with dementia.  Among other things, one thing she
couldn't do is leave her apartment due to her always
needing to be very close to the bathroom because of
diarrhea.

Her memory is now back in full force and she no longer
suffers from diarrhea.  Her doctors are amazed as well as
those who know her.

After seeing their results, I decided to give your plan a
try.  I have always suffered from constipation and in the
last six months from stomach pains and acid reflux.

The acid reflux was so bad that I was living on Tums.  I
could not even go to bed at night without one or two in my
mouth to help relieve the reflux enough so that I could
sleep.

Well, I finished the four days yesterday, and not once in
those four days have I suffered from acid reflux and I have
been going every day.  I have already lost 2 pounds and
know that it is only a start.

Thank you!

Nadine Foster
