More on coffee, tea and other beverages

Hi my friend,

After yesterday's email about coffee, I was barraged with
questions about different kinds of tea.

Let me clarify what's up with tea:

Herbal tea (like I recommended in my email) has no
caffeine and is alkaline.  That's why it's such a perfect
substitute for coffee--you get a delicious, hot, soothing
beverage without the harmful qualities of coffee.

Ordinary black tea, on the other hand, DOES have caffeine
(although less caffeine than coffee) and IS also acidic,
but it is not as bad as coffee.

Green tea is alkaline, but it does contain a little bit of
caffeine.  The caffeine in green tea is much less than
black tea or coffee, but it's still caffeine.

Here's how coffee, black tea and green tea measure up as
far as how much caffeine per cup:

Drip/perked coffee 200 mg/cup
Instant coffee 100 mg/cup
Black tea 60 mg/cup
Green tea 30 mg/cup

And while we're on the subject of drinks, another highly
acidic attack on our health (especially that of young
people and athletes) from the food giants are sports drinks.

In some ways, these drinks are even MORE dangerous than
coffee or tea because they're actually marketed as healthy.

Ignore the "health" claims made by the manufacturers of
these drinks.  You'd be better off drinking dishwater.  And
no, I'm not joking...not even a little bit.

These "health" drinks are NOT healthy.  They're marketed
that way for ONE reason: Profits.

They're FULL of acid-creating ingredients like:

* Sugar
* High fructose corn syrup (more sugar)
* Citric acid (a bone-dissolving form of acid that your
body must use it's minerals for, so it can try to
neutralize it)
* Phosphoric acid (the same acid as in soda that causes
more brittleness to your bones)

...plus: CAFFEINE!

And even though the ads for Gatorade, G2, Red Bull,
Vitamin Water, Powerade and all the others show attractive,
young people (even athletes) having the time of their life
drinking those acidy sugar waters, do not be fooled.

Because I tell the truth, my friend.

It's all marketing in the interest of sucking MEGA bucks
from your wallet.  Your health be damned.

The "healthy twist" in these junk drinks, as I call them,
is that they have some vitamins and minerals sprinkled in
to make their claims sound good.

But since the junk drinks make you more acidic, the added
nutrients are actually useless (non-usable by your body)
because your body can't effectively absorb the nutrients
when it's in a state of acidity anyway.

Listen, you need to be aware of how everything you drink
AND eat affects your pH and your overall state of health.

Otherwise, you're just a ripe target for the creative
marketing efforts of the food giants...and eventually a
lifelong client of big pharma.

Let Great Taste No Pain be your saving grace.

Dear Sherry,

Well, it's early days yet, six days and counting, but the
beneficial results are already pouring in!

The Nexium is in the rubbish bin--I don't need it anymore.
My Doc said, "You can stay on it safely for years...half
the town over 50 is on it!"  And he didn't want to hear
about my diet.  No comment!

And much better energy, no sleepiness after meals.  The
extra "gift" is that I am appreciating what I eat MUCH
more, slowly savoring each mouthful instead of gobbling
it down.

But best of all:  For 10 years I have had terrible back
pains at night so that I had to prop myself up and not one
of the many doctors I saw got to the bottom of it.  The
pain was "referred" pain from my stomach and now it is
gone!!!

So I am one very happy man thanks to your plan.

With gratitude,

Carl
