If you're a Cardinals fan, my condolences. They're an
awesome team too. The fact that they even made it to the
Superbowl is a testament to the talent and drive of the
players, coaches and organization.
So Superbowl Monday is here...and you're probably
regretting that extra pizza, the mile-high nachos, the
wings slathered in blue cheese or whatever your over-
indulgence was.
I hope it wasn't all of the above :-)
You might even feel a little tight in the waistband this
morning.
But beware.
Because the reducing industry is so full of such utter BS
for advice that you could find yourself spending your hard-
earned money on something that will not only result in just
a temporary loss of pounds (you'll put them back on when
you return to your old ways of eating), but will actually
make you SICK to boot.
Here's a perfect example: The book "Eat This Not That."
This book takes you through some of the well-known fast
food joints, chain restaurants and processed grocery store
"foods," telling you which items to buy in order to cut
calories.
It even tells you how many calories, grams of fat and
sodium you'll save with their recommendations. Yippee!
For example, they recommend that you have a whole wheat
glazed doughnut at Krispy Kreme instead of the glazed
blueberry cake doughnut.
Or a quarter pounder at McDonald's instead of a premium
grilled chicken club.
Or to buy whole grain Fig Newtons instead of Chips Ahoy.
Wow--what helpful advice, right?
I'm surprised they didn't say to choose hemlock instead of
arsenic.
Never in my 46 years have I seen such a total BS.
Taking the advice in that book will give you or worsen
acid reflux, GERD, colitis, diverticulitis, etc. and causes
a whole host of other health problems.
The authors wrote it to do one thing--make money.
They don't care if your insides are rotting, your gut is
bloated and hurting, you have to sleep propped up on
pillows and gotta gulp drugs every day.
They don't care if you end up in the ER with
diverticulitis or kidney stones caused by your diet. At
least you'll be a little thinner in your hospital bed.
What boggles my mind is that one of the authors of that
book is the editor-in-chief of Men's Health magazine!
He should be thrown out on his fat wallet.
Here is some advice worth listening to:
You CAN enjoy a normal body weight every single day and
still indulge in occasions like the Superbowl and not have
to worry about counting calories.
When you live EVERY day feeding your body the way it was
designed to be fed, excess pounds will never an issue.
Here's why:
Our bodies are alkaline by design. All of our organs and
systems work perfectly in an alkaline environment.
When a human body is too acidic, it doesn't function
properly and it begins to literally break down. And you
get pain, sickness, disease and...weight.
So if you hurt, are sick or are overweight, you are
acidic. Period.
And eating a quarter pounder instead of a chicken sandwich
is not going to change that one bit.
Eating 60-80% alkaline foods and combining your foods in
the way that keeps digestive acid low is the key (besides
exercise) to keeping away extra tonnage.
I'll show you what foods to eat and how simple and
delicious it is to eat the right foods in the right combos
in Great
Taste No Pain. http://www.greattastenopain.com/great.asp
When correctly combining your foods is a way of life, you
CAN have some snacks, a dessert, some cocktails or other
indulgence occasionally (I'll show you how) and not worry
about packing on pounds.
I NEVER deprive myself on special occasions, holidays or
vacations.
As a matter of fact, we had a party for the Superbowl
yesterday and I enjoyed a bunch of snacks. And since I
combined them right, I woke up this morning feeling great,
with the same number on the scale as the day before.
Don't waste your time trying to decide which fast food or
processed garbage you should buy. Buy REAL food. Pound
for pound, it's MUCH cheaper than the junk and will make
for less pounds on you too.
