How to prevent a diverticulitis attack

Every day diverticulitis sufferers write to us and ask why
we include raw vegetables, nuts and seeds in the Great
Taste No Pain plan.  Especially when their doctors have
said in no uncertain terms that they cannot and should not
to eat those foods.

Let me explain:

First, there is NO evidence that raw vegetables, nuts and
seeds get "stuck" in the colon pouches of someone with
diverticulitis and cause a flare-up.  Zero evidence.  Nada.
None.  Zip.  Zilch.

Even the Mayo Clinic acknowledges that raw vegetables,
nuts and seeds are GOOD for people with diverticulitis and
diverticulosis.

Avoiding nuts, seeds and vegetables is old, worn-out
advice that has no basis in fact.  Zero, nada, etc.

In fact it is one of the most harmful, dangerous pieces of
advice you could be given, yet it is doled out it big
portions today by a medical community so clueless about
digestive issues that it boggles the mind.

Another one is when a doctor tells you to avoid spicy foods
when you have an ulcer.  Because spices have nothing to do
with ulcers.  In fact, they're GOOD for people with
digestive troubles because most spices are alkaline.

What IS true is that countless diverticulitis sufferers
have avoided many healthy foods like these for a long time
out of fear that they'll cause an attack.

Now, foods like raw vegetables, nuts and seeds are
essential for the body.  They're mostly alkaline; they're
loaded with nutrients and naturally and gently cleanse the
colon.

But when people who typically avoid these foods eat them
for the first time in a long time, they, well, act like a
"broom" and start cleaning out some built-up wastes in the
colon.

This "house cleaning" can cause some cramping and diarrhea
which is natural...but lo and behold, people think they're
having an attack and end up believing more firmly than ever
that they can't eat nuts, seeds and raw vegetables.

That's just wrong.

Look, I've been studying this for many, many years.  Ask
your doctor how many years he's studies digestive
disorders.  Ask your doctor how many miraculous intestinal
healings he or she has played a role in.  Ask your doctor
how many surgeries they've recommended where the patient
got worse and worse.

I'd love to hear what they tell you.

I've helped so many people regain their health from
maladies like diverticulitis that... well, my newsletter
goes out to, let's see, it's now up to 106,771 people and
growing like a brush fire.  Because people are feeling so
good by following my advice they can't help telling
everyone they know how they did it.

And I'm telling you that if you're a diverticulitis
sufferer or have any other digestive issues, you CAN eat
those foods and you SHOULD eat those foods if you ever want
to enjoy good health again...or for the first time.

You just need to take care in how and when you re-
introduce them into your diet.

First of all, if you're in the middle of an attack, now is
not the time.  Settling down the colon and healing the
inflammation is the most important thing right now.

Once you're feeling better, you can try eating nuts, seeds
or raw vegetables in VERY small amounts, chewing well and
mixing them with other (compatible) foods.  (I show you
what foods combine well together in Great Taste No Pain.)

As your body gradually adjusts to these foods, you can eat
them in increasing amounts as tolerated.

Not only will you benefit from the loads of nutrients
you'll get from raw vegetables, nuts and seeds, but the
natural colon cleanse they give you can help prevent
further diverticulitis attacks.

Yes, you read that right.  Diverticulitis attacks occur
when wastes get stuck in the "pouches" that have formed in
the colon and become infected.

So keeping the colon nice and clean ensures that no wastes
get stuck, and inflammation is not an issue.

The manuals in Great Taste No Pain are your guide to
knowing exactly what to eat with what.  You'll understand
the science behind why eating this way is so good for your
body and your health.  And you'll have 112 delicious
reasons to enjoy healthy eating in the GTNP recipe book.

Stop thinking that you can't enjoy foods you love with
diverticulitis.  Let me show you how.

To your health,

Sherry Brescia

PS:  Vickie has seen great improvement with her
diverticulitis:

*******************

Hi Sherry:

I received my Great Taste No Pain System Thursday
(2/5/09).  I was so happy to see it arrive.

Friday my girlfriend and I went out for lunch.  I was able
to test out the Pocket Guide To Pain-Free Dining Out.  It
was so easy to follow.  I also shared it with my friend.  I
ate and had no pain after the meal.

I have been pain free since the latter part of last month,
thanks to your four day plan.  I am so thankful that I was
able to find you on line after my ER visit (with a
diagnosis of Diverticulitis) on 1/17/09.

After the ten days of antibiotics, I have really felt good
with how I eat.  I am not one hundred percent free of pain,
but I would say I am ninety-five percent free.

Not only do I feel great, I lost ten pounds as well.  I
was able to wear a dress I could not wear before due to
being overweight.  Now that was a great treat.

I am also starting to get back my energy.  I was so weak
and lifeless.  I believe some of that was the change in
diet and my body ridding itself of the toxins.

Now I will tell you how I have benefited in other ways.  I
used to have excessive gas, cramps, bloating to the point
of looking eight months pregnant, diarrhea at times,
excruciating pain and constipation.

Presently, my stomach has gone down a lot.  I no longer
have that heavy feeling and I no longer look pregnant.
Going to the bathroom, is like you said, one two three.

Thanks again for this plan and your care and love for
others.

May you always be blessed for what you do.

Love, Vickie
