I got the greatest letter yesterday afternoon from a
client with Crohn's disease.
Here's what Connie had to say:
*******************
I just wanted to contact Sherry to tell her how much she
has helped me.
I have Crohn's disease and recently had my second bowel
resection. Determined not to ever do that again, I came
home and tried the Great Taste, No Pain plan.
I am really feeling wonderful and can't remember a time I
haven't had bloating, gas, and diarrhea.
I am eating some foods I never thought possible.
I just wanted to thank Sherry!
Connie

SB: Connie, you're very welcome.
For your benefit and everyone else's, I'll explain WHY
you're feeling so good.
First of all, in case some of our readers don't know what
Crohn's is: Crohn's disease is a condition characterized
by chronic, ongoing inflammation of the digestive tract.
Crohn's can affect any area of the digestive tract, but it
usually affects the lower part of the small intestine
(the ileum)--right near where it connects to the large
intestine (the colon).
Crohn's results in swelling that extends deep into the
lining of the small intestine. The swelling causes pain
and makes the intestines empty frequently, resulting in
diarrhea.
It can also cause the intestines to get blocked, which can
require emergency surgery.
People with Crohn's are also commonly malnourished, since
their inflamed intestines have trouble absorbing nutrients
from their food.
3 out of 4 Crohn's sufferers (75%) have surgery at some
point in
their life, either to clear a blockage or to remove a
section of the small or intestine that has become too
inflamed (called a bowel resection, like Connie had).
And surgery is never a final answer, because Crohn's can
recur, and it commonly does so right near the first surgery
site. (Connie is living proof of this.)
People with Crohn's often become desperate because they
don't want surgery, nor is the idea of taking anti-
inflammatories or steroids (the 2 common drug therapies for
Crohn's) for life a very attractive proposition.
==================
Less inflammation
==================
Inflammation anywhere in the body is caused or worsened by
acidity in the body.
With pH that is too acid, the entire body is in a state of
inflammation, and makes it very difficult for the body to
heal itself and effectively absorb and use vitamins and
minerals from food.
Less inflammation in the intestines means less diarrhea,
as Connie has experienced.
==============
More nutrients
==============
Another way GTNP helps people with Crohn's is that, by
eating correct combinations of foods, which also keeps acid
low in the stomach, more of the naturally occurring
nutrients in their foods are preserved--instead of being
destroyed.
Having more nutrients available from your food helps give
an already nutritionally-challenged body a fighting chance
against malnourishment.
Underweight Crohn's sufferers can therefore get back to
their ideal weight because the nutrients from their foods
are now actually being absorbed.
And people who have Crohn's who are overweight can drop
the excess weight because their hunger signal won't be
triggered as often since their body is properly nourished.
Easy digestion is a major benefit of Great Taste No Pain
for people with Crohn's.
Efficient digestion results in wastes that move through
the intestines quickly, instead of getting dry, hard and
stuck (making inflammations and blockages even worse).
ALL of this can be like a dream come true to someone who
has the challenges of Crohn's.
If you've got Crohn's, know someone who does, or any other
painful digestive challenge, take it from Connie: Great
Taste No Pain just may be the help you've been looking for.
NOTE: Since Crohn's is often accompanied by a sensitivity
to gluten, for anyone with Crohn's, make sure to use gluten-
free ingredients when making any meals from the GTNP recipe
book.
To your health,
Sherry Brescia
PS: 30 year nurse is now feeling SO much better:
*******************
Dear Sherry:
In my experience, it seems that many in the medical
community, especially Doctors, think they are God and can
fix all with a pill.
WRONG.
I have been a nurse for 30 years and have always said we
are killing ourselves.
I feel so much better since I have done your plan and I
have to confess I was not too good at first so I restarted
and have followed it to a T.
I have lost 10 lbs and can not tell you how much better I
feel. It is a matter of changing how you eat & what you
eat.
Thank you again,
Dorothy
