The story below needs little introduction from me.
Dan went through hell on earth with a ruptured colon, he
came within inches of death and had a colostomy for 7
years.
But now...

Sherry:
I have been very happy with your Great Taste No Pain
program and I also take Super Shield daily.
My history? I'll try to make it as short as I can.
In 1995 I went to the ER complaining of extreme lower
abdominal pain. An x-ray was taken and a physical was
performed. (This was on a Tuesday.) I was told I probably
had very bad indigestion, was given some pain meds and told
to give myself a fleets enema. An appointment was made
with my primary physician that Friday.
The thing I want you to remember at this time is I had an
X-RAY.
I stayed home from work for three straight days. I
remember these days very well, it was the week of the
Oklahoma City Bombing. I have never in my life been in so
much pain. It never got better even with the pain pills.
I don't know how I did it--I must have a very high
tolerance for pain. I made it to my doctor's appointment
on Friday. My white cell count was over 20,000. I was
admitted into the hospital after sitting in the doctor's
waiting room for about 3 hours.
When I got to the hospital my physician ordered some sort
of radiology test and numerous blood tests. He never
actually came in to see me once I left his office.
A surgeon was consulted. He did come to see me but only
after reviewing the x-ray that was taken the previous
Tuesday in the ER. He cancelled my other tests and told me
I had a ruptured colon and needed to go to surgery right
away.
The next 3 to 4 weeks is pretty much a blur to me. After
the initial surgery I remember waking up but nothing after
that. From what I understand I had a large portion of my
colon removed and had a temporary colostomy. What happen
to me the following two to three weeks was told to me by my
family and close friends.
I went into respiratory arrest and had to go back into
surgery to have more of my colon removed. I came out of
the O.R. intubated and on a volume ventilator. Within a
week after this second surgery and numerous unsuccessful
attempts to wean me off the ventilator I went back into the
O.R. to have a Tracheostomy performed. I had sepsis,
impending liver and kidney failure and the trauma sent my
lungs into ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome).
My family was told I had a 50/50 chance of living although
when my brother took the doctor aside and asked for an
honest opinion, he told him my chances for survival were
very slim.
When I finally woke up I was very surprised with
everything I was told. I was admitted into the hospital
April 21st and was discharged on May 21st.
I was decannulated (had the tracheostomy removed) and on
oxygen for about a week. I also went to rehab for about a
week after discharge. I had a colostomy and was educated
on how to take care of it. On June 20th I went back to work.
I remained with the colostomy for 7 years because I was too
afraid to go back into the O.R. to have it reversed.
Needless to say, I finally did have it reversed about 7
years ago and I am very happy I did.
I guess the point I am trying to make is, I wish I had
been informed about your Great Taste No Pain program many
many years ago.
Even more important I wish physicians were more educated
on your GTNP program and also probiotics too. They may
have saved me a lot of the above mentioned problems.
After my colostomy reversal I was told by the surgeon that
if I had to have any more of my colon removed in the future
I would be with a colostomy for the rest of my life. It
was still five more years before I ran across your GTNP
program on the Internet. After what I had gone through I
was desperate to do anything to prevent that from happening
again.
Once I went on your Great Taste No Pain program I felt an
immediate difference in my digestive function. I also lost
about 10 pounds which I really didn't expect.
Your GTNP program has made my life much more peaceful and
has diminished my fear of having another colostomy. I
started taking your Super Shield Probiotics as soon as they
were available. I feel they have made a big difference also.
Thank you so much. I am more appreciative than you will
ever know.
Anyway...that is my story. I hope it will assist others
and prevent them from going through what I had to.
Dan

SB: Dan, wow, what a story. I too wish you had found
Great Taste No Pain and Super Shield long before you went
through such agony, but at least now you know you're on
track to stay healthy for life.
I agree it's such a shame that the mainstream medical
community cannot see value in anything except drugs and
surgery. Natural healing and prevention measures that are
SO effective are dismissed as worthless.
I too had a similar experience 17 years ago. When I
returned to my gastroenterologist and told him how I
overcame my IBS by eating correctly combined foods, he
rolled his eyes then practically yelled at me for not
taking my medication. I thanked him for his time, walked
out of the office and have never returned...and remain
symptom-free to this day.
