The REAL truth about cholesterol

This is a word people hate...

The "C" word.

Cholesterol.

The cholesterol scare is big business for doctors.

It's big business for labs.

And it's biggedy big Big BIG business for drug companies.

It's also a powerful marketing gimmick for the food giants
who market cholesterol-free oils and margarine.

When you hear the word cholesterol, most people
automatically think "heart disease."

But 99% of the time cholesterol is a GOOD thing.

Did you know that?

Let me explain:

What exactly is cholesterol?
=======================

A hard, waxy substance that melts at 300 degrees
Fahrenheit, cholesterol is essential for your health.

=================================
6 vital functions of cholesterol in your body:
=================================

1- Cholesterol compensates for changes in your cell
membranes

Your intake of fatty acids varies from day to day, and
this either increases the fluidity of your cell membranes
or makes them harden up.

Cholesterol is a regulating factor, helping your cells
retain just the right fluidity they need to function
effectively.

2- Cholesterol helps produce important hormones

Your body makes the male sex hormone testosterone and the
female sex hormones estrogen and progesterone from
cholesterol.  I don't think I need to explain the
importance of those :-)

It also makes adrenal hormones from cholesterol.  They
help regulate the water balance in your kidneys, suppress
inflammation, and help your body use glucose for the "fight
or flight" response when you're under stress.

3- Cholesterol makes Vitamin D

Your body makes Vitamin D from cholesterol.  Vitamin D is
essential for calcium and phosphorus metabolism, which
keeps your bones strong and helps reduce your risk of
osteoporosis.

Also, a deficiency of Vitamin D has been implicated as a
contributing factor to the development of multiple
sclerosis (MS).

4- Cholesterol makes bile acids

Bile acids are made from cholesterol.  You need bile acids
to digest and absorb fats, oils, and fat-soluble vitamins
from foods.

5- Cholesterol protects your skin

Cholesterol is secreted by glands in your skin.  It covers
and protects your skin against dehydration, the wear and
tear of sun, wind and water, and also helps wounds heal and
protects against infections.

6- Cholesterol pinch-hits as an antioxidant

Cholesterol can even function as an antioxidant, helping
your body fight damage from free radicals.

Clearly, cholesterol itself is not the devil.

EXCESS cholesterol is.

That's when it builds up and clogs your arteries, making
you a candidate for heart attack or stroke.

Cholesterol is not found in the plant kingdom.  You only
ingest cholesterol by eating meat.

But what a lot of people don't realize is that in addition
to getting cholesterol from meats, your body also
manufactures it from the breakdown of sugars, fats and
proteins.

And that's where people eating a typical Western diet
loaded with meat, sugary foods and high fat boxed, bagged,
and canned foods run into trouble with too much cholesterol.

But here's good news:  999 out of every 1,000 people can
control their cholesterol level and cardiovascular health
naturally.

It just involves two easy steps:

1- Incorporate more fresh fruits, vegetables and whole
grains into your diet, and less meat, fatty and sugary
foods.

2- Take probiotic nutritional supplements.

That's right.  Studies consistently show that probiotics
can reduce excess blood cholesterol levels, thereby
reducing risk of cardiovascular disease.

They do this in 3 different ways:

******************************************
1- Probiotics create the types of acids that slow
cholesterol production
******************************************

As probiotic bacteria digest fiber in your intestines,
they produce acids.  One of the acids (called proprionic
acid) decreases production of cholesterol by the liver.

Less cholesterol made by the liver means less cholesterol
flowing through your veins.

(By the way, this is how statins are designed to work too.
But probiotics are natural to the body and so they have
none of the dangerous side effects of statins.)

************************
2- They break down bile acids
************************

Bile acids are needed to digest fats and are made by your
liver from cholesterol.

Now, normally your liver "recycles" bile acids and uses
them over and over.  But
probiotics break down your bile acids, so your liver has
to make more...and it uses up more cholesterol in the
process.

More cholesterol used to make bile acids means less in
your bloodstream.

****************************
3- They chow down on cholesterol
****************************

Probiotic bacteria have been shown to break down
cholesterol and use it for nourishment.  That's less
cholesterol around to wreak havoc in your arteries.

Helping to naturally reduce your cholesterol (or help keep
it at a good level if you don't have a cholesterol problem)
is yet another reason to take Super Shield pharmaceutical-
grade probiotic formula every day.

One of Super Shield's powerhouse strains of bacteria,
Lactobacillus Acidophilus DDS-1, is a superstar when it
comes to fighting cholesterol.

L. Acidophilus DDS-1 "eats" cholesterol like I mentioned
above.  It also helps digest proteins and carbs, and
produces B vitamins, folic acid, and lactase (which reduce
lactose intolerance).

It is also a major part of the vaginal flora where it
works to prevent yeast infections in women.

And that's just ONE of the 13 super potent beneficial
bacteria strains in Super Shield.

If you're worried about high cholesterol, don't think that
dangerous statins are the ticket.  They are not.  In fact,
they can do a lot more harm than good.

Help your body lower cholesterol naturally with Super
Shield, and reduce your risk of being a heart disease
statistic.
