Jennifer's son was diagnosed with acid reflux and given
Prevacid at the tender age of 2. At that point, he had
never slept an entire night in his life and had chronic
hiccups every day.
Good thing Jennifer looked beyond the pharmacy for some
answers.
Here's her story:
*******************
Hi Sherry,
I wanted to share our story as it a bit different than
other people's. It has to do with our 2 year old son.
He has had feeding issues since birth. He had severe
hiccups all day long every day since birth and he was
nursed for his whole first year of life.
He never slept through the night and he would not take a
nap until he was exhausted and then he would only sleep for
30-45 minutes.
He had several different tests starting at about 8 months
old until he was 18 months old. He had genetic testing
done, a sleep study, an endoscopy, an echocardiogram, etc.
The only thing that showed us anything was the endoscopy.
The doctor said he had moderate to severe acid reflux and
put him on Prevacid. I don't like medicine and reluctantly
gave it to him for about a week until I started reading
negative things about Prevacid.
He was late on all of his developmental milestones (I have
6 other children, so I know that he was extremely late).
When we introduced him to solids, he would turn his head
and not ever put anything into his mouth--food or toys.
I took him to a holistic doctor and they gave me different
things to try. I was told to stop giving him cow's milk
and give him fresh goat's milk. The other doctor said he
was allergic to wheat and gluten and to only give him rice
milk.
Some things seemed to help him, but it never was enough
for him to consistently sleep through the night. He is now
2 years and 4 months old.
I have another baby due in a few months and I have been
greatly concerned as to how I was going to manage
comforting the two year old on and off all night long and
take care of a newborn. I desperately prayed and asked the
Lord for an answer during those sleepless nights which have
seemed to get worse in the past couple of months.
Anyway, somewhere, somehow, I have been receiving your e-
mails for some time and not really paying attention to
them. Dietary changes really haven't made that much
difference for my son in the past, so I figured it was just
ANOTHER email.
I finally read one in it's entirety about 2 weeks ago and
told my husband I would try your four day plan and see what
happened.
The first day, I wrote down everything he ate, and
followed your guidelines closely.
HE SLEPT THE WHOLE NIGHT! You do not know what a miracle
this is.
The next night, he slept in his bed most of the night, got
in our bed and fell right back to sleep. It has been two
weeks and he is sleeping better than he has in his whole
LIFE.
I have made a few mistakes in combining the foods and
realized it after the fact, but it has been incredible.
After the four days, I ordered your complete Great Taste No
Pain system.

I still have some questions, but I think I am beginning to
get the idea.
Thank you again for what you do. I will continue to
spread the word about your dietary lifestyle to help other
people.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Thomas

SB: Jennifer, you deserve a lot of credit for saying no
to drugging a 2 year-old and instead bringing about health
naturally, which is working. God bless you, and all my
best wishes for your upcoming "new arrival."
*********
It's sad to think of how many kids are walking around
being drugged for "acid reflux disease" when all they need
are a few slight modifications to their diet.
Nexium and Prevacid are the number 3 and 4 top selling
prescription drugs today--tens of billions of dollars are
being made by making patients out of adults and wee little
ones alike.
Totally unnecessary.
Even though they're allegedly "approved" for small
children, what most people don't realize is that acid
reducing drugs are NOT harmless and NOT safe.
In fact, they do far more harm than good.
Here's why:
Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) like Prevacid and Nexium are
designed to reduce the amount of hydrochloric acid in your
stomach.
But when you do this, you completely throw off the balance
of bacteria in your intestinal tract and give harmful
bacteria the upper hand.
So acid reducers are literally killers of probiotics (good
bacteria) in your gut.
But it doesn't stop there...
You see, the hydrochloric acid in your stomach does more
that digest food--it also acts as a protective barrier for
your body.
Here's how:
Every day we all ingest food and other organisms that have
the potential to make you sick or even kill us.
But...
Our stomach acids typically destroy these dangerous
pathogens before they can cause us harm. But when our
stomach acid is stopped or reduced, the protective barrier
isn't there and the invaders can get into your intestinal
tract.
And if your gut has mainly bad bacteria (from PPI use) to
begin with, you've got a great chance of getting REALLY
sick...or even losing your life.
And there's more...
PPIs reduce the ability of your bones to absorb calcium.
Long-term use of PPIs results in a 44% greater risk of hip
fracture!
They don't talk about that on those nice Prevacid
commercials, do they?
And it STILL doesn't end there.
===========
The final danger
===========
The last major danger of acid reducer use: They stop your
digestion.
That's right. Your stomach needs acid to digest proteins.
So if the stomach acid gets neutralized or stopped, your
digestion halts.
And the food just sits there.
Now, your stomach, sensing something's wrong, secretes
more acid to digest the food and get it moving...
...and the PPI stops it. Digestion is stopped again.
This can go on for hours and hours, this produce acid -
stop it - produce acid - stop it cycle....
During this process, in addition to blowing up like a
balloon, you can get gas, bloating, cramping, constipation
and diarrhea. (Check any Nexium or Prevacid package--
you'll see those symptoms listed as side effects -- and now
you know why.)
The nutrients in your foods are also destroyed...and that
(along with the reduced calcium absorption above) is a
major factor in why Jennifer's son had delays in his
development.
Now, all that excess acid secreted by your stomach for all
those hours has to go somewhere...and that somewhere is
typically UP.
So you're back where you started when you took the acid
reducer to begin with--having acid rising into your throat
and your chest on fire.
Been there?
Frustrating, isn't it?
What should you do?
Do what makes sense, like Jennifer did for her little boy.
Do what is proven to eliminate the need for antacids, PPIs
and H2 blockers to begin with.
If you have acid reflux or have been diagnosed with other
digestive problems, you MUST follow my advice and eat in
the way that will make it stop--the way I show you in Great
Taste No Pain.
When you eat properly combined meals and get enough
alkaline foods in your diet, the heartburn will end, acid
reflux will go away, GERD will be a thing of the past and
gastritis symptoms will vanish.
They will go away in as little as 1 day.
It did for Jennifer's son. He's sleeping all night for
the first time in two years, and is no longer plagued with
daily chronic hiccups.
All without the dangerous drugs his doctor pushed to his
Mom.
If you or someone you love (including children) suffers
from acid reflux, GERD or other digestive problems, real,
drug-free relief is just one click away.
PS: It's also important to make sure your intestinal
flora are properly balanced--at least 85% beneficial
bacteria and no more than 15% harmful. This will keep your
digestion efficient and help fight dangerous pathogens you
ingest, as well as strengthen your immune system. Super
Shield probiotic formula's 13 medical-grade strains of
helpful bacteria will make this a reality for you.
