How they make us fat: An inside look at an industry

If you've tried one or more of the 30,000 published diets
in existence and failed (or put the weight back on like
97% of people do), you probably felt frustrated and even
angry with yourself.

But you had help with your failure.

You see, there is a multi-billion dollar industry exists
that is hell-bent on making you fat and keeping you fat.

Why?  Because it means profits, my friend, that's why.
BIG bucks.

One way they do this is to hit you right in the middle of
your face...your nose, that is.

Your nose knows
============

Studies have shown that many people need only get a whiff
of a high-fat, sugary snack in order to cave in.

That's why you can't walk through a shopping mall without
smelling cinnamon rolls, donuts or chocolate chip cookies.
They know you'll follow your nose.

I experienced this phenomenon myself by accident.

15 years ago, I was on an assignment at a hospital and I
kept smelling chocolate all morning (forgetting that a
chocolate factory was a few miles down the road).  When I
went to the cafeteria for lunch, I asked the server if they
had made brownies, thinking I might indulge in a small one.

Now, I RARELY eat sweets.  But that smell was enough to
tempt me.

The cafeteria lady snickered and said I was smelling
Nestle's down the road--lucky for me there were no brownies.

Just one WILL hurt
==============

Typically one cookie or donut won't kill you, but the
problem is that just one could trigger binge behavior.

So you not only eat the donut but go home and clean out
your pantry, cupboard and refrigerator too.

It doesn't help that what you're eating is likely to be
full of refined white flour and fat, which raises your
level of seratonin (the "feel good" hormone) for a short
while.

But then the seratonin rush goes away and you crash,
feeling worse than you did before and miles from your goal
weight.

Once on the lips, forever on the hips
==============================

There's an entire global chemical industry, centered in
New Jersey, that creates flavors for the processed food
companies.

Once they've got your tongue, my friend, they've got you
good.

For example, fast food french fries have a tasty meaty
flavor from beef tallow added to the cooking oil.

Chicken and bacon fat "flavors" are added to low fat
burgers and baked chicken nuggets to give them that
slippery-mouth feel of real fat.

Baked corn and potato chips are sprayed with fake fats to
heighten their flavors, because if they didn't you wouldn't
eat them.

Imagine that... they have to add chemical flavorings just
to make these fake foods edible at all.  Without them, they
taste like the trash they really are.

And all of these tastes make you want to eat more and more
and more (and get fatter and fatter and fatter).

Chi-ching.

A glimmer of hope
============

Here is the good news in all of this: There is hope for
people who feel like a prisoner of the "food manipulators."

It's this:

Once you stop eating the strong salty, meaty, sweet and
spicy "fake flavors" that are loaded in processed and fast
food, you regain the ability to taste the flavors of REAL
foods...

...and LOVE them.

That's right--in numerous studies of former junk food
junkies, most have said they never realized how delicious
real foods are and what rich flavors they have.

And once they began eating real foods, guess what happened.

That's right--their waistlines began to shrink, and their
health improved dramatically.

Many reported increases in energy, less digestive
distress, fewer body aches and pains, clearer skin, fewer
headaches, and better sleep, to name a few.

The key to overcoming "junk food-itis" is to make real
foods that are delicious and enticing.

To your health,

Sherry Brescia

PS:  Ralph is already 9 pounds lighter and has reduced
his blood sugar:

*******************

Hi Sherry,

I have suffered from various pains since about 18, I am
now 43.

The first issue was acid indigestion and heartburn.  I
also had bouts of irregular digestive issues.  They seemed
to manifest themselves as constipation, then diarrhea...and
back and forth.

I had symptoms of diverticulitis.  I suffered from nausea
and pain in my abdomen.  I had resolved that I would need
to take psyllium fiber for the rest of my life.  I would
wake up throughout the night sometimes.

I've been taking Prilosec for 7 years and before that,
massive amounts of Rolaids or Tums.  Also, shortly after
starting the Prilosec, I was diagnosed with type II diabetes.

I started your plan about a month ago and in the first
week I felt MUCH better.

I have lost 9 pounds now, I sleep throughout the night,
no indigestion, and have not taken fiber since.  My blood
sugar has stabilized and I even reduced my medication to
half.  I believe that soon I will be rid of all meds
completely!

My goal is 12 pounds at the one month mark.  I am on my
way to losing the 50 I've needed to lose for 10 years!  By
this time next year...a new me.

I can't thank you enough for your plan.  I can now feel
more confident that I am helping make my body to be
healthier for years to come.

Ralph D.
