A Bigger Challenge

There's no denying it:  Our backsides are bigger than ever
before in our existence.

Plus more people have digestive conditions and emotional
problems than ever before.

And most telling, kids are being diagnosed in
frighteningly increasing numbers with obesity, acid reflux,
attention deficit and depression.

It's not a virus.

It's not evolution.

It's not the apocalypse.

It's mainly created by one thing...

What we put on their plates every day.

Putting it bluntly, addictions to soda, junk and fast
foods and their resulting nutritional deficiencies are
making kids fat, sick, unable to remember anything and
emotionally unstable.

And if that's how they start life out, imagine what kind
of adults they will turn into.

Consider these unsettling stats:

* One soda per day increases a child's risk of obesity by
60%.

* 90% (9 out of 10) preschoolers drink at least one soda
daily and 4 out of 10 drink at least 3 sodas a day.

* 30% (3 out of 10) kids eat one or more fast food meals
every single day.

* One single fast food meal (aka "Happy Meal") shouldn't
make you "happy" at all.  It contains 100% of a kid's
recommended daily calorie intake but next to no usable
nutrients.

* The average child watches 30,000 food ads on TV each
year, with most of them advertising sugary, starchy,
nutritionally deficient snacks.

The physical effects of soda and junk food are obvious--
obesity and digestive disorders being the most common.

In the US alone, between 1976 and 2004, the rate of
severely obese children has tripled to a total of 2.7
million kids.  Currently nearly 1 out of 5 kids is obese,
and several million more are overweight, plunging toward
obesity.

Remember, it's not human evolution.  This is not normal.
It's the food that's changed.

And here's the thing big pharma is loving:  Between 2000
and 2005, cases of GERD/acid reflux diagnosed in kids
increased between 30% to 50% in the various age groups.
Let's speed up production of Kid's Tums and encourage docs
to prescribe the purple pill to kids.

"Ah, little patients for life!"  Chi-ching!

But the physical effects aren't the only issue here.

Eating garbage takes its toll mentally too.

A study published in the American Journal of Psychiatry
showed that 8 year-olds low on zinc, iron and B vitamins
(which is a direct result of a fast/junk food diet) show
40% more aggressive behavior than those without deficiencies.

17 year-olds lacking these nutrients were 50% more violent
and had antisocial behaviors.

Zinc helps balance blood sugar.  So kids that are low in
zinc crave sweets.  Lacking zinc can also lead to anorexia
nervosa, bulimia, frequent headaches and depression serious
enough to consider suicide.

A low magnesium level is linked to attention deficit
disorder (ADD), autism, depression, fatigue and learning
disabilities.

Low iron levels cause poor brain functioning and erratic
behavior.

So is it any surprise that we have to have metal detectors
at schools?

Is it any wonder that our kids are fat and needing to take
medication just to get their homework done or stop heartburn?

We're not feeding them--we're stuffing them full of
harmful chemicals and useless junk!

Please, if you love your kids, do what's right.  Put REAL
food into them.

And put your foot down.

We once had a staff member whose 9 year-old son refused to
eat anything green....so she let him call the shots.

She even picked the specks of basil out of spaghetti sauce
for him!  I'm not joking.

She would say how worried she was that her son wasn't
getting good nutrition...until I told her she was the
problem.

If you have time to plop down and watch your "favorite
shows" each week, then you have the time to cook.

I know the kids will moan and beg for Mickey D's or Taco
Bell, but say no.

They might refuse to eat the "good stuff," but what's the
worst thing that will happen?  They'll go hungry for a
night.  Big deal.  They're better off going hungry than
eating junk.

And when they see you're serious, they won't continue
their hunger strike for too long.

Help their brains grow and work right.  Help them to stay
slim and heartburn-free.  Give them a chance at a disease-
free, happy life.

And be an example with your OWN eating habits too.  Don't
think I forgot about you.

The great news is eating for a healthy body and mind is
easier and tastier than you think.

PS:  Great Taste No Pain has turned Evon's life around:

*******************

Dear Sherry,

I started your GTNP program a few weeks ago, and am
feeling so good in my body I just have to say thank you.
You have certainly turned my life around.

I have suffered with acid reflux and had stopped eating
certain foods, was sleeping upright, trying different
things as not to take any medication.

Within a few days of starting your program it all was gone.

I also suffered with high blood pressure and I have been
able stop taking amlodipine as my blood pressure is normal
now.

I have been telling all my friends about this new way of
eating because it has cetainly made a difference in my
life.

My energy level is also way up which I needed as my job is
very demanding.  After a full day's work it's so good to
have a good night's sleep, and waking up not feeling tired.

Thank you again, and keep up the good work.

Sincerely,

Evon
