How To Reduce Obesity & Diabetes Risk

It is estimated that 98% of the population in the US eat
what is being called an "impoverished diet."

Dr. Luise Light, in "What To Eat," describes the
impoverished diet that has been responsible for millions
of people suffering from obesity, inflammation, pain,
disease and early deaths.

Here's what it is:

Simply put, an impoverished diet is eating foods with
little or no nutrients naturally occurring in them.  It
results in lack of necessary nourishment and creates
feelings of constant hunger.

People eating an impoverished diet eat large amounts of
nutrient-poor refined carbohydrates (like pasta, white
bread, white rice, baked goods and processed snacks and
sweets) and very few fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains
and protein.

Eating this way was originally associated with
impoverished populations, since refined carbohydrates are
cheap to make and affordable by people with lower incomes.

But that's all changed.

Thanks to giant food processing companies, refined
carbohydrates (especially processed snacks and fast food)
are now heavily marketed to people of ALL income levels.
As a result, addictions to these foods have been created
across the salary board, and the "impoverished diet" now
applies to the rich and the poor alike.

And now, pound for pound, these cheap-to-make creations
are more expensive than healthy foods.

The current average price for Doritos is about $3.99 for a
12 ounce bag, or in other words $5.32 a pound for a bag of
empty calories.

On the other hand, most fresh vegetables average less than
half that price and they're loaded with nutrients.

Now, the food giants LOVE the impoverished diet because it
creates a cycle that means gazillions of dollars for them.

Here's how that happens:

Your body is never truly nourished like it needs to be
when you eat a diet of nutrient-poor refined carbohydrates.
But your hunger signal is triggered by a need for nutrients-
-not by a physical absence of food in your stomach.

So when your body doesn't get the nutrients it needs, your
body will keep sounding off the hunger signal, even though
your stomach may already be stuffed with a "family-sized"
bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos.

And when you're addicted to refined carbs, when you feel
that hunger pang, guess what you'll reach for.

That's right--MORE processed food or fast food.

Frito-Lay and Mickey D's can barely count the money
rolling in fast enough and they thank you very much.

An impoverished diet doesn't just make the food giants
richer and your backside bigger.

It also makes you ill.

Here's how:

Refined carbohydrates are digested very quickly, and
result in a huge flood of glucose into your bloodstream.

Your pancreas senses this and releases insulin to signal
your cells to absorb the glucose.  That way, your blood
sugar is restored to a normal level.

But when you eat large amounts of refined carbohydrates
every day, this causes stress on your pancreas to keep up
with the increasing demand for insulin.

This can lead to one of two scenarios:

Either the pancreas can't produce enough insulin to keep
up with the demand, or your cells stop responding to the
insulin and don't absorb the excess glucose like they
should.

This is called insulin resistance (also known as metabolic
syndrome or Syndrome X) and if it continues long enough,
type 2 diabetes will result.

Also, people with insulin resistance are at a greater risk
for developing these medical problems as well:

* High blood pressure
* Elevated LDL (bad cholesterol) and triglycerides
* Coronary artery disease
* Heart attack
* Obesity

If you eat an impoverished diet (anyone with a modern
Western-type diet), it's only a matter of time before it
takes its toll on you...if it hasn't started already.

Don't let it happen, or stop it dead in its tracks.  Don't
think there's nothing you can do, or that eating a better
diet is too hard or too boring.

Great Taste No Pain is THE tool you need to accomplish
this life-saving goal.

PS:  Omega-3 fatty acids are essential to all body
processes, and impoverished diets are seriously lacking in
Omega-3s.  To avoid being a Syndrome X statistic, it's
crucial to ensure that your body has the Omega-3 fatty
acids it needs.  A high quality, Omega-3 oil like Blue Rock
Holistics' Vital-Mega 3 fish oil supplement can help you
achieve this very important goal.

Just 2 capsules a day give you pure medical-grade fish oil
just LOADED with EPA and DHA (the necessary Omega-3 fatty
acids).  Get it here:
