Skinny Man With Colitis Gains 28 Pounds Back (2 Stone)
This is one of the most dramatic turnarounds for someone
with colitis that I've ever seen.
Things got so dismal for Jed that he felt life was not
worth living.
Now he's on top of the world AND medication-free:

Hi Sherry,
Thank you so much!
At the age of 40 years old I was diagnosed with ulcerative
colitis, although my troubles actually began many years
before this.
For years I was experiencing the worst pains ever,
explosive bloody diarrhea and my energy levels had hit the
floor. My normal weight of 12 stone (168 lbs.) plummeted
to less than 10 stone (140 lbs.). Depression had set in
and I was wishing that I would go to bed and not wake up in
the morning. Life was just not worth living.
After my diagnosis I was prescribed Prednisolone and
Asocol which eased my problems for a couple of years. But
then I flared up again and was prescribed Azathioprine.
I was then told that my next step would be to have my
colon removed if the drugs did not work.
Luckily enough the drugs did work but along with them came
the horrible side effects.
and took note of what I was reading. I ordered my first
batch of Super Shield probiotic formula and within a few
months I slowly but surely reduced the amount of medication
I was taking. (I must add that this was done against my
doctor's wishes.)
I have now been medication-free for over six months, my
blood count is normal, my weight is back up to 12 stone and
I feel on top of the world.
You are the best. Keep up the good work, Sherry.
Regards,
Jed T.

Jed didn't go into detail about his side effects, but here
are some of the possible side effects of his latest
"treatment" from his doctor (the Azathioprine):
* Long-term use of azathioprine can increase your risk of
developing certain types of CANCER (including skin cancer
and lymphoma)
* It can lower your body's ability to fight an infection.
* It can cause stomach/intestinal symptoms such as nausea,
vomiting, diarrhea, or loss of appetite. (So it actually
WORSENS colitis symptoms, in other words.)
* It can also cause weakness, muscle loss, vision changes,
hair loss, cold/numbness in the fingers, mouth sores,
painful swallowing and greasy stools.
I don't blame Jed for being depressed. With your only
choices being either drugs and their side effects or losing
your entire colon, most people would feel pretty hopeless
too.
Research continues to show that probiotics are
increasingly helpful to people with ulcerative colitis.
And even greater results have been seen with probiotics
that also have prebiotics in them. (Prebiotics are
nourishment for the probiotics.)
A double-blind study was conducted in the UK where one
group of ulcerative colitis patients was give a probiotic
with a PREbiotic, and another group was given a placebo for
30 days. Neither group knew what they were given.
Once the study was completed, researchers noted that the
pro- and prebiotic patients had significant reductions in
their chronic colon inflammation, whereas the placebo group
either showed no improvement or worsened.
In addition to 13 of the most feisty, potent, medical-
grade strains of beneficial bacteria available, Super
Shield also contains FOS (fructo-oligosaccharides)--a fiber
that serves as a prebiotic, or nourishment for the good
bacteria.
Whether you have ulcerative colitis or ANY digestive
challenge, having a health population of friendly bacteria
in your gut is not just a good idea--it's a MUST.
Jed was so low that he was hoping to not wake up in the
morning, but now he's medication-free and feeling great.
PS: It's vital to eat a healthy diet because processed
foods, sugars and refined carbs are food for the harmful
bacteria in your system. If you want better intestinal
health, you gotta knock the amounts of these foods down.
Bottom line.
