What if there were a serious medical problem that 1 out of
10 people over 40 has? And that by 60, 1 out of every 2
people have? And that almost everyone over 80 has...
There is, at least in the US, an affliction like that...
Diverticular Disease. Specifically, diverticulosis and
diverticulitis.
What's disturbing, yet oddly exciting about it is that it
was rarely seen before 1900 in the US, and it's rare even
today in many countries.
So clearly, our lifestyle choices are causing it. This is
the exciting part. Because if we are causing it, we can
make it go away. And as bad as it is, it's easy to stay
problem-free.
Here's why... Diverticulosis is the presence of little
pouches or sacs (called diverticula) in your colon. These
pouches are the result of wastes getting stuck along your
colon wall which cause indentations which become deeper
often due to straining when having bowel movements.
Food and wastes build up in the diverticula and eventually
they can become infected and even burst -- then you've
graduated from diverticulOSIS to diverticulITIS.
It's been said that the pain of a diverticulitis attack is
worse than a kidney stone or childbirth.
But the pain is only the beginning of your problems...
When a diverticula (pouch) bursts, swarms of bad bacteria
are released and free to roam throughout your body. These
bacteria get into your bloodstream and wreak havoc
everywhere -- including infections and inflammations of all
kinds. That can mean headaches, joint pain, muscle aches,
fatigue and more.
See why people say this can be worse than kidney stones
and childbirth?
And it gets worse, because the most common treatment for
a diverticulitis attack is antibiotics -- which will kill
off both the harmful AND the friendly bacteria in your gut
and put your body into even greater turmoil.
This is can cause stomach aches and diarrhea while taking
antibiotics. Oh, the joy of diverticulitis.
People who have bad cases of diverticulitis end up having
some of their colon removed. But even that's not a
guaranteed fix because diverticula can occur again "down
the street" and form in another area of your colon.
To really fight diverticular disease and not be a part of
the statistics I quoted above you need to prevent the
diverticula from forming in the first place (or if they
have already formed, keep them from getting infected).
This can be accomplished in two simple, easy steps:
1) Eat foods together that allow for efficient digestion.
Many combinations of foods cannot digest properly when
eaten at the same time. These typical food combinations
are one of the primary causes of diverticula.
But it never has to be a problem in your life now or ever.
Because the Great Taste No Pain health system
- http://www.greattastenopain.com/great.asp teaches you
the simple principles of good food combining to improve
your digestion, maximize nutrient absorption and encourage
regular, easy bowel movements. Plus it has meal
suggestions, a 176-page recipe book and even a dining out
guide to keep you eating great and feeling great even if
you travel constantly.
2) Take a probiotic
The reason a pharmaceutical-grade probiotic, Super Shield,
was the first formula we came out with is because it's
possibly the most important supplement in existence.
Because it balances the bacteria in your gut, where about
80% of your immune system resides.
It helps to keep diverticula from getting infected. No
infections means no diverticulitis.
Just because everyone else gets diverticular disease
doesn't mean that you have to. Remember, it was super rare
before 1900. You can make it rare for you today.
Don't accept diverticular disease or any other sickness as
unavoidable or as your destiny. Take a proactive role in
your health with Great Taste No Pain and Super Shield, and
you'll stay energetic and pain-free into your 80s and beyond.
To your health,
Sherry Brescia

Sherry:
I would like to also share my story of a year or more on
your plan. I am 71 years of age.
My bowel problems began with diverticulitis attacks, the
first attack being in 1996, followed by another and another
in the years to follow and given antibiotics.
Then I developed irritable bowel problems with diarrhea,
along with the anxiety of not being able to go and do what
I wanted to do when I wanted to do it. I always had to
know where all the restrooms were.
Then this past year during my colonoscopy they were unable
to ascend beyond the sigmoid colon, and I thought I would
be looking at surgery; however, because I was having no
elimination problems, my gastroenterologist said he would
see me in one year and we would reassess.
I showed him your Great Taste No Pain program, and he did
seem interested.
Had I not been on this way of eating, I am sure I would
have been headed for removal of the lower portion of my
colon which he said was riddled with diverticula and
because of the narrowing of the colon.
This way of eating has definitely made a big difference -
no more diarrhea unless I cheat!
Over the course of this past year, I have also been seeing
an integrative physician and it was suggested by him that I
try a gluten-free diet even though all my tests came back
negative for celiac. Apparently I am also gluten sensitive
(sensitive to wheat, barley, and rye), as that has made a
tremendous difference too.
Another thing I have found since following both the
combining way of eating and the gluten free diet is that
the anxiety I used to have has greatly dissipated.
It was the greatest revelation when I began to search out
alternative ways of bettering my health. I am an RN by
background, and it took a while for me to move on from what
I had learned and explore other avenues when mainstream was
not answering my needs.
I also want to say after trying different probiotic
products, even that suggested by the gastroenterologist,
your Super Shield truly does what it says it will. That
has also been a great help.
Have a great day and thanks tremendously for all you are
accomplishing.
