With summer comes something that many people fear more
than death, snakes and public speaking combined...
Bathing suit season.
Get down to your skivvies and look in a mirror. Chances
are good that you're not happy with how you look.
So now's the time that scores of beach-minded people are
trying to take off weight fast.
And that means dieting.
Worst thing you could do.
It's about as effective as tossing kerosene on a fire to
put it out.
Why dieting doesn't work
===================
Most people have tried some form of dieting at some point,
but nearly always put the weight they dropped back on and
more.
Here's why:
Whether it's portion reduction, meal replacements, cutting
out carbs or eliminating fats, restricting your overall
calorie intake CAN result in pounds lost, but with dieting,
those pounds are both fat AND muscle.
That's not good.
Because since muscle tissue burns calories (but fat does
NOT), you don't want to lose any of your muscle.
Also, when you restrict calories by eating less or
eliminating whole food groups from your diet, your body
goes into a starvation mode in order to preserve your fat
stores in case no more food is coming for a while. As a
result, your fat burning metabolism slows WAY down to keep
you sustained on less food.
This means you start losing less or no weight at all, even
though you may be existing on little more than lettuce and
water.
This frustrates the heck out of dieters, and leads to many
of them just giving up.
Plus when you stop dieting and eat your "old way" again,
your body will burn even fewer calories than it did
previously because you slowed down your metabolic rate.
So any weight that was lost gets packed back on, plus a
few more pounds. Look in the mirror again. Making sense
now?
And you avoid the beach and swimming pools like the plague.
==================================
3 little-known factors that cause weight GAIN.
==================================
1- Antibiotics
Researchers in the agricultural field know that giving
antibiotics to cows and pigs results in massive weight
gain. Livestock owners routinely put low doses of
antibiotics in their animals' feed because antibiotics
change their metabolism and improve their ability to retain
fat.
Bigger animals = more meat (and hence more profits).
Although we're not cows (although some people I've seen
are beginning to look dangerously close), antibiotics have
a similar effect on humans.
ANY antibiotics you ingest, whether by prescription from
your doctor or through the meat you eat, can cause you to
retain fat.
2- Candida
The processed, sugary foods that most people eat today
causes yeast (Candida albicans) to grow out of control.
This can lead to vaginal yeast infections, fungal
infections of the skin and nails, joint pain...
...and weight gain.
You see, Candida overgrowth causes you to have intense
cravings for sugary foods, bread and pasta. So it may not
be your "lack of willpower" that keeps you eating and
eating --
you might be overrun with Candida!
3- All calories are not created equal
Most people believe that limiting your calorie intake to,
say, 1,500 calories a day would make you lose weight.
Not necessarily.
Because 1,500 calories of candy and soda are not the same
as 1,500 calories of chicken and vegetables.
Your body would not get its required nutrients from the
candy and soda, so it would again go into starvation mode
like I mentioned above. Plus, it would be nearly
impossible to stay under 1,500 calories because you'd be
ravenously hungry all the time. And so you go soaring past
1,500 calories -- you can't help it.
But with the chicken and vegetables, your body would be
nourished so you'd feel full and satisfied (and FAR less
likely to overeat). Plus the starvation mode wouldn't get
triggered, so your fat burning metabolism would be
stronger, resulting in more calories burned and pounds lost.
So what's the secret to losing pounds and keeping them off?
It's this:
Make sure your digestive system is in perfect working
order.
========================================
I know this is completely different from anything you've
heard in the past.
But if you're still fearing "beached whale," those old
weight loss ideas and gimmicks from the past are pretty
worthless, aren't they?
Unless your digestive system is operating like it's
supposed to, cats will bark before you ever reach a proper
body weight.
But here's the great news: It's extremely easy to get and
keep your digestive system in working order, even after
years of abuse and fad diets (and lots of candy and soda!).
What I recommend is this:
1- Eat a well-balanced diet of nutritious foods and keep
acid low in your body.

PS: Sharon wanted help with diverticulitis -- and is now
back at her high school weight!

Hi Sherry:
I have been on your Great Taste No Pain eating plan since
August of 2008 (over 18 months). It has become a way of
life.
I admit I was concerned at first about losing weight. I
was about 135 lbs and went down to 105 (my high school
weight). But after getting a whole new wardrobe, I totally
love my new (old) size and look!
The greatest thing is that I haven't had any more
diverticulitis attacks since I started the plan. When I
occasionally eat things not well combined, I notice the
difference and go right back to the plan.
My allergies are also reduced, and as long as I am
faithful to exercise, I feel great both mentally and
physically.
I appreciate your plan and I'm so thankful I found it
online soon after returning from hospital with severe
diverticulitis attack. I was afraid to eat anything! And
you gave me the confidence and a sure-fire eating plan.
