The longest-lived people don't live here
We've got it made here in the USA, don't we?
The richest country in the world.
So we should be the healthiest, happiest people and live
longer than anyone else, right?
Not even close!
Here's the sad truth:
- 2 out of 3 people are overweight, often massively.
- Half have at least one chronic disease including asthma,
diabetes, arthritis and heart disease.
- Nearly half of us take at least one prescription
drug...and many take 4, 5 or more every single day.
And not only are we fat, sick and drug-dependent, but our
lifespan ranks 49th (for women) and 45th (for men) in the
WORLD!
So, women in 48 other countries and men in 44 other
countries live LONGER than we do.
Say what!?
The single biggest difference between the US and other
countries lies in the choices we have available to us and
how we make those choices.
- We CHOOSE to eat fast food and processed food.
- We CHOOSE to sit on our butts, flipping through 700 TV
channels instead of moving our booties.
- We CHOOSE to take prescription drugs instead of
improving our health with proper diet and exercise. I call
that having the "Magic Pill Mentality."
But we have LOTS of help with those choices.
Processed food manufacturers, fast food corporations and
pharmaceutical companies know we'll eat anything as long as
it has a snappy taste.
And they are more than happy to fill our needs (and their
pockets) at the price of our health and our lives.
I saw a commercial last night where a certain fast food
chain was boasting about how they give money to help fight
breast cancer. Pfffft! That's hysterical, considering
that their foods are contributing to the breast cancer
epidemic.
It's called greed, my friend.
Let's take a peek at how these companies make us sick and
even kill us in the name of profits:
Food manufacturers (aka food giants)
===========================
The garbage put out by food manufacturers is a travesty
against humanity.
The fact that it's even called "food" is ridiculous.
These companies start out with real food ingredients. But
then they're destroyed by various processes--heating,
bleaching, drying, fragmenting, freeze drying, evaporating,
etc.--until they in no way resemble real food, either in
taste, appearance or nutritionally.
Then chemicals are added (over a BILLION pounds of
chemicals are added to processed foods in the US each
YEAR!)--coloring, preservatives, artificial flavors,
appearance enhancers and texture modifiers.
Not only do the chemicals make the junk taste unbelievably
good, but they also cause you to become addicted to it.
But wait--the food giants also know that they have to make
this junk appear to be healthy for you. So they sprinkle
in some vitamins and nutrients since the original ones in
the food have been literally processed out.
"Hooray! Now it looks healthy and we can buffalo the
people into buying it."
Colorful packaging, a cartoon spokesperson, a catchy
jingle and a $1 off coupon complete the illusion, and
voila' -- boxes and bags of "food" that we scarf down by
the tanker full each week.
Your mind may believe this stuff is food. But your body
isn't fooled...
When you put garbage into your body, garbage is what comes
out:
* Lots of excess acid is produced in an effort to digest
this trash, since your system was never meant to digest non-
food and man-made chemicals. Hello GERD and acid reflux
and ulcers.
* Toxic wastes are produced that gunk up your colon. Then
it seeps into your bloodstream, lighting fires of
inflammation all over and creating the perfect environment
for diseases (including cancer) to flourish.
* Plus, you're constantly hungry because you haven't been
nourished with the REAL food your body needs in order to
thrive. This makes you overeat and start to closely
resemble a member of the bovine family.
Boy oh boy, aren't Kellogg's, Nestle, General Mills,
PepsiCo and Kraft just grand?
Fast food companies
================
They're no different than the food processors.
The stuff they serve is worse for you than shredded carpet.
Pharmaceutical companies
===================
The drug companies claim that their products can work
magic--lower your cholesterol, end depression, reverse
osteoporosis, eliminate allergies, lower blood pressure,
etc.
But if prescription drugs are so GOOD for you, where are
all the vibrant, healthy medicated people?
I haven't seen any yet. None.
Now, the scary part of drug development is that the drug
companies fail to look at the big picture when developing
their latest legalized poison....er, I mean drug.
Here's what I mean:
During development, prescription drugs are designed to
target a single measurable problem/symptom, such as high
cholesterol or blood pressure.
There are thousands of "targets" like these in our bodies,
and if a specific drug can affect any of them in a positive
way (without killing too many people during the clinical
trials!) the FDA declares it to be "safe and effective."
Just watch Pfizer's or GlaxoSmithKline's stock shoot up on
those days!
But here's the side you NEVER hear about:
A drug MAY positively impact a certain health issue. But
every drug has effects on the rest of your body, and these
effects are not accurately measured (or admitted to) in the
clinical trials.
For example, statins can lower cholesterol. But they do
this by hampering your liver's ability to create ALL types
of cholesterol, including "good" (HDL) cholesterol, as well
as important hormones that your body makes from
cholesterol. That is not in the commercials.
So while statins have one measurable, positive effect
measured by a blood test, they simultaneously throw off
your body's healthy functioning in numerous other ways,
including ruining your sex drive.
Clinical trials are not concerned about these "other"
effects -- they're just hell bent on proving one thing and
getting FDA approval to market the drug as a miracle
cholesterol fighter.
And here's the real kicker: When clinical trial
participants (aka guinea pigs) start showing some of the
bad effects, they're typically "dismissed" from the trial
in order to ensure that the trial results look positive.
Betcha didn't know that, huh? This ensures that toxic
drugs are actually approved by the FDA as "safe."
So what can you do?
==============
You may be wondering: How can I help reverse the scary
health trends in the US (as well as many other countries
around the world)?
How can I stop a cycle of being fat, sickly and drug-
dependent?
Glad you asked.
There are a few very important things you can do:
1) Stay FAR away from processed foods and fast food.
======================================
Look for alternatives to dangerous prescription drugs and
ways to create health from within--not just mask symptoms.
(More on that below.)
2) Get some form of regular exercise, at least 4-5 days a
week.
========================================
You don't need a gym membership or fancy equipment.
Walking is fine, and just about anyone can do that.
3) Eat foods that are nourishing to your body and help
keep acid and toxins low.
=======================================
The easiest way to do this is to follow my advice in the
Great Taste No Pain health system.
The manual "How To End Stomach Pain Forever, Even If Your
MD Says, 'No Way!'" shows you the few simple principles
you'll need to know to make your meals digest easily and
efficiently. This will keep acid and toxins to a minimum
and enhance nutrient absorption.
That means no more tummy troubles and smaller clothes.
It also means having tons more energy and a cleaner you
from the inside, so you're less of an attractive home to
disease.
Having a cleaner, alkaline body also leads to great
changes like these:
- Lower blood pressure
- Lower bad cholesterol
- More normal, stable blood sugar
- Fewer migraine headaches
- Less anxiety and depression
- Fewer general aches and pains
And THAT means less or no reliance on prescription
medications!
Now is the time for you to take control of your health and
your life...before it's too late. Not doctors. Not big
companies.
YOU.
Don't worry -- you can do it. It's easy and I will guide
you every step of the way.
