Follow My Advice, Get Off Protonix, Nexium and More
One of the crucial messages I try to convey in each
newsletter is that you can take charge of your own health.
There are very few victims here... only uninformed,
ignorant people who do nothing with all the vital health
information all around them.
Because like it or not, chances are excellent that just by
going to the doctor and blindly obeying his instructions,
you won't feel any better.
And in many cases, you'll get worse! Sometimes you die by
following your doctor's advice.
Even the best doctors don't know EVERYthing. Most
mainstream doctors are hideously lacking in nutritional
training and natural approaches to healing. In fact, most
know nothing at all. Zip. Nada. Zilch.
Their focus is on prescription drugs (not foods, not
natural supplementation)...yet sometimes they aren't aware
of, or ignore the dangers of the drugs they prescribe.
I actually talked with a real idiot doctor yesterday who
said Vitamin C did nothing for heart patients. I pointed
out to him that studies show when vitamin C levels are low,
the body compensates and manufactures more cholesterol;
when C levels are high, the vitamin inhibits HMG-CoA
reductase, lowering cholesterol. I asked him if he knew
this. He literally mumbled something unintelligible, got a
confused look on his face and literally walked away from
me. Stunning.
I mean, this is heart health 101, and this learned doctor
knew nothing about it.
Point? When someone hands you a prescription for a drug,
it's up to YOU to take a long, hard look at it and do some
digging.
If you're on the "white coat treadmill" taking one or more
prescriptions but don't feel better (or feel worse), yet
all your doctor can do is suggest another drug, it's time
to look at your options.
That's what Penny did.
She suffered with acid reflux and IBS for most of her
adult life and spent 15 years on Protonix.
Wait until you see what she learned about that drug! And
more importantly, see how she took charge of her health and
is enjoying life again.

Dear Sherry:
I've suffered with acid reflux/GERD for most of my adult
life (I am now 63).
15 years ago, after an endoscopy, a gastroenterologist
prescribed Protonix for my condition. This was after
trying several PPIs with no success. The headaches and
diarrhea I was getting should have tipped me off.
I had also developed over those years terrible, painful
IBS. And while the episodes were only occasional for
years, in the last year, I would suffer at least once-a-
month with attacks that would last from several hours to
several days.
My internist prescribed anti-spasmodics (but they didn't
help much).
Because of the acid condition, I've become an advocate of
healthy eating (but was uneducated about pairing my foods
properly).
Two weeks ago, after a particularly wretched IBS attack, I
decided to find out what I could to help myself.
I first visited the website of the manufacturer of the PPI
I was taking. In their own material, they state their drug
should only be taken from 2 - 4 WEEKS! I had taken it for
15 YEARS!
And further reading in the very technical material (most
of which I did not understand), I found that the longest
term study they funded was 4 years, that the greatest risk
was to the liver and it could generate IBS, spastic colon,
etc.
Geez Louise! Are you kidding me? 15 Years and no
physician sent up a red flag?
So, then, in very short order, I found Great Taste No
Pain, downloaded the 4 day program, and then bought the
entire plan.
I weaned myself from the drug for about 10 days (every
other day), then just quit altogether. It took a further
10 days before I had my first day without acid, but it was
worth the wait.
And, I might mention, the best part is that my IBS has
disappeared completely! What a miracle! (That could also
be attributed to the Omega 3's and Probiotics as well as
the GTNP eating style.)
There are still foods I don't eat like dairy or anything
white, but I think that maybe one day will be able to
introduce those foods back into my life again. Right now,
I'm just ecstatic that I am out of pain, and that I may be
on the way to completely healing my colon.
Thanks just doesn't seem enough. Bless you!
Penny P. in Ohio
P.S. Family and friends know how important this change is
for my lifestyle. I was becoming a shut-in because of the
unpredictability of the IBS condition. Not only did I give
up foods, but I couldn't leave the house until after 11 in
the morning. If I went out, I would have to calculate the
distance and whether there were bathrooms available. What
a sadness to have to suffer so.
But happy am I NOW!!!

SB: Penny, you're on your way! I'm 18 years free of IBS,
and I have no doubt your colon is healing just fine like
mine did. Enjoy many happy, healthy, pain-free years ahead.

If Penny had not done a little research, gotten Great
Taste No Pain, no doubt she would still be taking
prescription drugs, suffering miserably living the life of
a shut-in and searching for bathrooms whenever she went out.
But she's free of all that now.
And YOU can be too.
If you've got digestive challenges, whether they be acid
reflux, IBS, diverticulitis, colitis, whatever, know this:
What you eat, and the foods you eat together, are most
definitely an underlying cause of your suffering.
You won't hear that from your doctor because he knows
little or nothing about nutrition and how food affects the
body. You can't teach what you don't know.
The GTNP manual "How To End Stomach Pain Forever, Even If
Your MD Says, 'No Way!'" teaches you the few simple
principles you'll need to know. It also explains the
science behind proper pairing of foods and why it works so
well for every single person who follows the simple advice.
It will make perfect sense to you, and more importantly,
you'll notice a difference in how you feel--FAST. Probably
immediately.
"Foods That Create Acid, Foods That Take It Away" is self
explanatory. When you know what foods create excess acid
in your system, it's easy to see what you should minimize
in your diet and what you should eat more of.
"What To Eat With What" spells out what to eat together to
make all your meals easy to digest. When you have
efficient digestion, you don't get pain, bloating, gas or
acid rising in your throat. What a relief!
And of course, you'll also get a recipe book full of
delicious dishes that get rave reviews and will keep your
tongue dancing.
Penny spent most of her adult life a prisoner to acid
reflux, IBS and prescription drugs, but not any more.
