The Mysterious Crohn's Diagnosis
"Wow" is all I've got to say. Because I just got the most
compelling email that you'll want to read now.
It's from a guy diagnosed with Crohn's Disease with nary a
test taken, and was then told he needed $1,850 in tests to
confirm the absurd conclusion.
Good thing he knew enough to question his diagnosis. He
saved a lot of money in needless tests and probably a lot
of agony from prescription drug side effects.
Here's his remarkable story:

As a 37 year-old, single father of a 4 and 7 year-old, my
health is VERY important. I have always worked out 5 days
a week, and felt I could eat and drink whatever I wanted.
Boy was I ever wrong!
Approximately 6 weeks ago, I started with a mild pain,
which I shrugged off. It progressed to the point that I
was convinced it was my appendix. I have never been one to
trust doctors, so I went to the emergency room to have
blood work and a CT scan done.
4 hours later, the doctor comes back and tells me that I
have Crohn's disease because there is minor swelling in my
small intestines. Really? A diagnosis like that from an
ER doctor?
Then he tells me the building next door (conveniently) has
over a dozen gastro doctors and I need to get a
colonoscopy.
We won't even get into the fact that half a dozen other
people I know have the same symptoms. I ask the doctor his
prognosis and all I get is, "Well, it can't be anything you
ate or drank. It's just your body attacking itself because
there is something in your intestines that it doesn't like."
That just seemed very odd to me. Not that my diet has not
been the best over the last 6 months--lots of beef, cheese,
bread, beer, coke, whiskey, seafood--I won't even continue
to go on.

scan, no one had it available. Despite the fact that I
called a week ahead of time and asked for them to get it

and my body being over acidified.
The answer I got was, "Mr. Dooley, it's not that simple!
Well, it could be a bacteria, but we want you to get a
colonoscopy. By the way it is going to cost you $1,500
plus $350 for your visit today and then we will decide."
Needless to say, I left his office, still pain free six
weeks later. I follow your program to a "T", take the
probiotics and a few other supplements daily.
I can't tell you the last time I felt this good. My fresh
juice every morning gives me far more energy than the 3 or
4 energy drinks a day I was poisoning my body with.
I have dropped close to 20 lbs of unhealthy weight and
feel great. I tell everyone I know about your system and
books and know that the key to a long and healthy life with
my children is proper, BALANCED nutrition.
I remember the Saturday morning commercial, "You are what

I just have to wonder why we no longer see these public
service announcements to our children. Instead all we see
are commercials telling them how wonderful it is to eat
their processed, refined foods...

symptoms that were just beginning in my body.

SB: Sean, you're welcome. I too miss those public
service announcements, but it's easy to see why they've
gone by the wayside -- big advertising bucks paid by the
processed food manufacturers are much more alluring than a
PSA telling kids to eat their vegetables. Sad but true.

Sean's story raises a couple of excellent points:
1- He was told the cause of his symptoms couldn't be
anything he ate or drank.
He's certainly learned -- and proven -- otherwise. It's
sad to think of the millions of people who don't know any
better and obediently take their prescription drugs because
they think there's no other answer.
2- His doctor--a gastro specialist in the field for 25
YEARS -- had no idea what Sean was talking about when he
mentioned intestinal flora and excess acidity.
That is an absolute travesty -- that doctor and any others
like him should hide their heads in shame. To claim to be
a gastro specialist and not be educated in such basic
matters as intestinal flora and pH is like being a reading
teacher without knowing your ABC's.
