Mixing probiotics with medications

An important question I frequently get is whether
probiotics can be taken with other medications.

The answer:  The first part of the answer is that, if you
take a probiotic, to get a medical-grade product.  Most
probiotics you can buy in grocery stores and health food
stores don't have any live cultures in them by the time
they get to you.  In that scenario, all the money invested
in them is thrown away.
More on this here:

The second part to the answer is YES, probiotics and
medication DO mix.

As a matter of fact, it's VERY important to take them
while on medications.

You see, one of the many problems with medications is that
they can kill the good bacteria in your gut, creating an
imbalance of flora...so you can end up even sicker AFTER
you've taken your prescribed drugs.  This very is common.

Here is a guide that explains the issue between certain
drugs and probiotics, and how you can overcome the problems.

Antibiotics
=========

Problem:
In addition to the bacteria that you WANT them to kill,
they also kill the good bacteria in your gut like
Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium.  This makes you prone to
digestive disorders of all types, leaky gut syndrome, and
greatly impairs your immune system.

What to do:
Be sure to take Super Shield one to two hours AFTER taking
antibiotics.

Antacids and acid blockers (like H2 blockers or PPIs)
============================================

Problem:
They neutralize acid in your stomach and small intestine
and greatly impair digestion.  Also, with less acid, your
small intestine is more susceptible to bacterial invasion
from the large intestine (called SIBO--small intestinal
bacterial overgrowth) and can result in gas, severe
bloating and pain.

What to do:
Increase dosage of Super Shield to 2 capsules per day.

Also, follow the advice in the Great Taste No Pain manuals
in order to eliminate a root cause of acid reflux, GERD,
hiatal hernia and gastritis symptoms, so antacids can be a
thing of the past.  You can learn more about Great Taste No
Pain at:

Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS)
====================================

Problem:
These can block production of stomach acid to delay and
stop digestion completely.  This leads to poor nutrient
absorption, wastes that don't move through the intestines
like they should and bad bacteria overgrowth.

What to do:
Same as for antacids (above).

Laxatives
=========

Problem:
They speed the emptying of your intestinal contents, which
includes many good bacteria.  This gives the bad bacteria
the advantage and they can overcome the good.

What to do:
Continue taking 1 Super Shield per day.  Drink at least 8-
10 glasses of filtered water a day.  Distilled is best.
And most importantly, eat a diet of fiber rich real foods
to easily and naturally eliminate constipation.  The Great
Taste No Pain manuals teach you exactly what to do.

Muscle relaxers
============

Problem:
They decrease peristalsis, which is the contractions that
move your food through the digestive tract.  This results
in constipation, slow emptying of the intestines, and also
allows bacteria in your large intestine to move up into the
small intestine -- causing SIBO and IBS symptoms.

What to do:
Same as for laxatives (above).

Immune suppressors
==============

Problem:
They shut down the immune system for people who have had
organ transplants or conditions such as AIDS and other
immune disorders.  Since probiotics help to strengthen the
immune system, they may lessen the effectiveness of the
prescription drugs.

What to do:
If you're taking immune suppressors, be sure to tell your
doctor you're taking probiotic supplements.

It's a sad truth that drugs that are supposed to treat
sickness often times actually make you sicker.

But they don't have to.  You can now counteract the
harmful effects of these medications.  Be sure to use Super
Shield to keep your intestinal flora balance where it needs
to be, regardless of what medications you take.

And of course, eating a healthy diet can eliminate the
need for many medications.  Follow the principles in the
Great Taste No Pain system -- which simply follows the
rules of how the human digestion system is designed -- and
see how much better you can feel:

To your health,

Sherry Brescia

PS:  Kelly no longer has pain, bloating, migraines,
constipation or diarrhea:

*******************

Hi Sherry,

I first want to thank you for helping me feel great!  Your
guidelines in the GTNP manual have helped me realize what I
have been doing wrong all along.

I used to suffer from several symptoms: stomach pains,
bloating, migraines, constipation and diarrhea, and never
knew why.  Once my friend told me about your plan and how
much it has changed her life dramatically, I decided to
give it a shot.

It has only been about a month now, but I can already see
the difference.  I have also been taking the Super Shield
Probiotics twice a day and I can tell that they also help.

I used to feel lazy all the time because I lacked energy
and this caused me to fall behind on cleaning my apartment.
I no longer have any stomach issues; except sometimes when
I feel the urge to sneak in some 'bad snacks' at the wrong
times.

I plan on continuing the journey for a healthier and more
satisfying life :)

Thank You So Much!

Kelly T.

P.S. - I have recommended your plan to several people at
work so far and they plan on following in my footsteps!
