Studies: Probiotics Boost Immune Function During Stress

How many times have you heard someone say, "I'm so
stressed out!"?

How often do you feel it yourself?

It's hard to avoid.  Our brains haven't evolved in eons --
we still have that reptilian brain that can't distinguish
between a lion who's about to eat us and getting yelled at
because you didn't take out the trash.

Totally different scene...

Exact same stress reaction in the body.

It sucks, because since 90% of our immune system is in our
intestines, the greater our stress, the worse our gut gets
hammered, and the more susceptible we are to every type of
disease, illness or virus out there.

The brain-gut axis
===============

Think about it.  Have you ever gotten butterflies in your
stomach before a big presentation?

Or flown to the bathroom with diarrhea or stomach pain
when you're worried or upset?

Those are perfect illustrations of what's called the brain-
gut axis.

The brain-gut axis is a network of chemical and electrical
signals that continuously pass between the central nervous
system (the brain) and the digestive system.  It's such a
close relationship that some experts have even called the
gut your second brain.

(It's also been said that ignorant people sit on their
brains, but that's a different story!)

Since there's such a profound, close relationship between
the brain and the gut, chronic psychological stress can
make you physically sick.

For example, stress is often a triggering factor for IBS
(irritable bowel syndrome) and in the worsening of the
symptoms of colitis and Crohn's disease.

Stress also causes your gut to become hypersensitive,
which can lead to food allergies and intolerances.

And there's another way that stress affects your gut --
the inner lining of your intestines.  Stress causes the
protective gastric mucosal barrier to become less
effective at defending your body against unfriendly
bacteria and dangerous pathogens.

That's why you catch viruses or get infections easier when
you're under stress -- your body literally cannot fight
them off as well.

How to effectively combat stress
===========================

Probiotics have been proven to be a highly effective
answer to the problem of stress taking its toll on your body.

Here's some examples of how effective they probiotics can
be:

Scientists in Canada conducted a study with rats where
they were subjected to chronic psychological stress for 10
days.  Half of the rats received probiotics in their
drinking water during this period and the other half did not.

At the end of the 10-day period the chronically stressed-
out rats who did not receive probiotics had a breakdown in
their immune system -- bad bacteria had traveled from their
intestines to their lymph nodes, the blood's filters.

But the rats that received the probiotics showed
practically no sign of bad bacteria in their lymph nodes.

Similar results have been seen in human studies...

One study performed by Spanish scientists was conducted on
university students who were about to undergo three weeks
of exams.

Over a six-week period prior to the exams, 73 of the
students drank probiotic-laced milk and 63 others drank
ordinary milk.  Their anxiety levels and white blood cells
were measured at the start of the study and again at the end.

White blood cells counts (representing immune function)
declined in the students who drank the plain milk.  But
astonishingly, the students who had the probiotics actually
IMPROVED their immune status, even though they went through
the exact same stressful exams.

Fighting the physical effects of stress in your life is
yet another great reason to take Super Shield multi-strain
probiotic formula every day.

One of Super Shield's 13 superior bacteria strains,
Bifidobacteria Lactis, has been shown to have high adhesion
to human mucus.  That means it will stick to your colon
wall to keep the colon strong and protective, to keep
wastes from leaking out into the bloodstream.

In addition, Super Shield also contains Lactobacillus
Rhamnosus.  L. rhamnosus has been shown to stimulate
antibody production and enhance phagocytosis (one of your
body's weapons for destroying invaders), and strengthens
the gut-barrier function.

It can even have beneficial impact on autoimmune diseases
including rheumatoid arthritis and allergies.

Let's face it, emotional and physical stress is part of
everyday life.  You can't always avoid it, but you CAN do
everything possible to prevent it from taking its toll on
you.

Meditating is a great stress reducer, but at an hour a
day, it's probably not in your plans, right?

So let Super Shield help prevent YOU from being a physical
victim of your stress-filled world.  Learn about and get it

PS: Omega-3 essential fatty acids also help combat the
effects of stress.  Your body uses omega-3 essential fatty
acids to repair cell membranes, absorb nutrients and expel
harmful wastes.  EFAs also help your body produce hormones
that regulate heartbeat, blood pressure, blood clotting and
fertility, and encourage your body to fight inflammation
and infections.  Taking VitalMega-3 fish oil supplements
every day can help ensure that you have enough of these
crucial nutrients.  Learn more about VitalMega-3 here at:
